TREASON DEFINED IN WIKIPEDIA
GT sez: Be sure to understand all the terminology you have heard and used during your lifetime...It's going to become important very soon to use it properly as we
soon begin to discover just who is a traitor to our country in the creation of this
economic disaster....
"In law, treason is the crime that covers some of the more serious acts of disloyalty to one's sovereign or nation. Historically, treason also covered the murder of specific social superiors, such as the murder of a husband by his wife (treason against the king was known as high treason and treason against a lesser superior was petit treason). A person who commits treason is known in law as a traitor.
Oran's Dictionary of the Law (1983) defines treason as: "...[a]...citizen's actions to help a foreign government overthrow, make war against, or seriously injure the [parent nation]." In many nations, it is also often considered treason to attempt or conspire to overthrow the government, even if no foreign country is aided or involved by such an endeavour."

JACOB HORNBERGER ON 'THE DRUG WAR'...FFF.ORG

Hillary Clinton’s Drug-War Inanities
by Jacob G. Hornberger
Hillary Clinton’s comments on the violence along the U.S.-Mexico border are so inane that I feel compelled to write about two government programs: the war on drugs and public (i.e., government) schooling.
On her way to Mexico to discuss the ever-increasing drug-war violence along the U.S. Mexico-border, guess whom Clinton blamed the violence on: America’s drug users and gun sellers!
How inane is that?
Pardon me, Ms. Clinton, but isn’t there also an insatiable demand for booze here in the United States? Yet, I don’t see much booze-related violence along the border. But here’s my prediction: If you people made booze illegal again, I predict that there would be all kinds of booze-war related violence, not only along the border but also all across the United States. In fact, you’ll recall that that is precisely what Prohibition did — it produced lots of Al Capone-like violence, until booze was re-legalized, at which point the violence disappeared.
Why can’t Clinton simply acknowledge that the drug war is at the root of the violence along the border? Why can’t she simply be honest and say, “Look, we understand that the drug war is causing the violence, but that’s a cost we’re willing to pay to keep our 35-year-old war on drugs going”?
The reason is very simple: If people were to see the truth, Clinton and her statist cohorts would stand to lose what matters most to them in life — power and money. The reason that statists, both liberal and conservative, love the drug war is because it helps to satisfy their insatiable demand for more power over the lives of more human beings. After all, with the possible exception of U.S. foreign policy, it would be difficult to find a government program better at producing ever-increasing government power and budgets than the war on drugs.
Here’s how this power surge works. They first make it illegal to possess or distribute certain drugs, knowing that people are inevitably going to break the law. Then they engage in ever-increasing measures to deal with the ever-increasing crises associated with people’s refusal to comply with the law: warrantless searches and seizures, Soviet-style checkpoints on highways, confiscation (i.e., stealing) of people’s money and other assets, and harsh punishments.
Then they get Mexico go crack down on the drug cartels that the drug war itself has brought into existence, knowing that the result is going to be precisely the same as when the U.S. government cracked down on the booze organizations during Prohibition. Then, they cite all the resulting drug-war chaos and crises as the excuse for more intervention, including the militarization of the border and gun control.
So, what does public schooling have to do with all this? What else can possibly explain why the American people fall for all this inanity? Public schooling teaches children to memorize, conform, and accept. Critical thinking and challenging the system at a fundamental level bring Ritalan injections. So, you end up with a nation of sheep-like adults with mindsets that cause them to nod approvingly when people like Clinton inanely claim that the drug-war violence along the borders is all because of drug users and gun sellers in America.
No, Ms. Clinton, the solution to the drug-war violence along the border does not lie in trying to satisfy your insatiable demand for more power, money, gun control, and bigger government. It lies instead in the immediate end to your beloved war on drugs, a war that has brought nothing but death, destruction, suffering, and misery.

CINDY SHEEHAN STRIKES THE MAIN NERVE AGAIN
"We're All In This Together"
No we are not, that's the point.
By Cindy Sheehan
http://informationclearinghouse.info/article22296.htm
March 25, 2009 "ICH" -- President Obama basically said that we can't demonize every investor who earns a profit, because "we are all in this together." Sorry, but I am going to have to call a big fat "bull-shit" on this one.
When Obama said "we" did he have a mouse in his pocket? Obama, and his family have a very opulent, slave-built roof over their heads. He travels on the public nickel, his children attend an exclusive Washington, DC private school that has organic food on its menu, and has health care that covers everyone in his family from head to toe and side to side and inside out.
Even though he and every member of the administration, Congress and the Supreme Court are not hurting for anything, the bastard (sorry if your parents weren't married when you were conceived) Wall Street banksters are receiving billions of dollars of government welfare and are not so good about being in "this together" with us.
The only concrete steps the Treasury and Fed have taken are to buy "toxic" assets (if something is toxic can it still be an asset?) so companies like Goldman Sachs (via AIG) can have the public tit rescue them from their stupider than crap mistakes.
WE the ROBBED Class are in this together. THEY the ROBBER Class are in it for themselves. How many times does Obama have to demonstrate that his economic recovery is nothing but Reaganomics wrapped in a little bit of populist rhetoric to make it easier for the mis-informed Robbed Class to swallow. If anything transpires to alleviate the suffering in our Class at all, it will be because some of the prosperity got through the cracks in the deeply cancerous system and trickled ON us. Rest assured, this is just a mistake and the only time the Robber Class cares about us, is when the interests of the two classes collide.
I will feel like I am "in this" with the Obamas when I have a free house, free health care and if my children would not have to go into lifelong debt to pay for university.
I wonder if the wall to wall homeless population (it's growing at an alarming rate) here in San Francisco feels "in this together" with the Wall Street Robbers?
I wonder if the people standing waiting for hours in municipal Emergency Rooms waiting to get some, any medical attention feel "in this together" with Congress which has 110% medical coverage?
I wonder if the foot soldiers for the Empire feel "in this together" with the War Profiteer Robbers?
I wonder if the victims of the drug wars and street wars feel "in this together" with the children of the Robbers who ride to their schools in limos with bodyguards?
I wonder if our brothers and sisters living in tent cities with their children feel "in this together" with the Pelosis and Feinsteins of the world who live in their obscenely huge mansions in exclusive neighborhoods and fly back and forth from DC in private jets that suck down gas at an immoral rate?
I wonder if our brothers and sisters who just cashed a final unemployment check feels "in this together" with the Robbers who just cashed millions in bonuses?
I, myself, feel "in this together" with the homeless, hungry, sick, jobless, struggling, stressed, frightened, confused, yet resilient, brave and strong.
WE are in this together. WE need to step outside of the Robber Class system and start to build our own systems to help each other through this Robber Class/Goldman Sachs/Federal Reserve depression.

Hourly Action In Gold From Trader Dan

Dear CIGAs,
There wasn’t much in the way of supportive factors for gold in today’s trading session as the Dollar was higher, crude oil was lower and bonds were lower. Equities were a tad weaker but after yesterday’s monster rally, the thinking in many quarters is that global stock markets have bottomed out. That removed the safe haven flow into both bonds and gold and allowed gold shorts to push the market down into stops as weak-handed longs were driven out. Those sell stops were the property of the trading funds who once again were handed their heads by the bullion banks.
Failure by the bulls to push up and through the $960 area was the signal by shorter-term oriented traders to book profits if they were long and to add to shorts if they were short. The onus is now on the bulls to hold price above the $900 level. If they can do that, gold has a very good chance at consolidating its recent gains. If not, back down to near the $880 level we go once again. We had an $80 run higher in gold when the news hit that the Fed was embarking on a course of printing money to buy US Treasury and Agency debt. You might recall that news resulted in the single largest daily price drop in the Dollar in many a year. Gold shorts saw their lives pass in front of their eyes with a multitude of them who had gone short below the $900 level squeezed out. The problem for the bulls is that long liquidation tied to the stock market rally, overcame buying coming from those who are looking longer term at the implications of the Fed’s quantitative easing policy and its devastating effect on the Dollar.
Make no mistake about it – the Fed believes that it is wise enough and nimble enough to nip the inevitable inflationary aspects of its policies when those begin to occur –and occur they will. Their immediate concern however is deflation and they are apparently determined to avert that at all costs, even if it means giving further impetus to the growing movement among many in the international community to abandon the Dollar as the global reserve currency. As a matter of fact, both China and Russia are becoming quite vociferous about this issue.
This shift in sentiment away from the Dollar is momentous. It is the rare breed that is able to spot turning points in history while they are indeed occurring. It is generally only after the fact that the majority are able to point a finger at a particular occurrence and state; “history was made here”. Nonetheless, we are getting a ringside seat and observing the events transpire that will alter our way of life here in the United States forever. As citizens, we have reaped the benefits of the Dollar as the reserve currency, benefits which include a life-style for the average American that is leaps and bounds beyond that of the overwhelming majority of the world’s population. It encompasses everything from the size of our cars and of our homes all the way to the size of our military and our ability to project power around the globe. The loss of the Dollar’s reserve currency status would threaten all of this. That is why many of us are so deeply concerned about what is occurring in Washington with regard to its spending orgy and to the ruinous policies that the Fed’s short-sighted members are currently wedded to. There is still time to save the Dollar but one wonders just who is left in our nation’s capital to lead the charge.
Back to gold – I am concerned by gold’s inability to hold near the 700 level when priced in Euros and the 650 level when priced in terms of the British Pound. We also have gold backing down from its highs in terms of most of the other major currencies as well. That has taken some of the luster off of the metal in spite of the fact that reported holdings in the gold ETF, GLD, are still holding near recent record levels.
From my current vantage point it seems that while gold lacks sufficient impetus to push it through $960 and on up then to $1,000, it also should be well supported on any price dips given the medium to longer term implications of the Fed’s quantitative easing program. That portends that a range trade is the more likely outcome to look for over the near term with the metal waiting for some sort of signal to break it out either way. The current boundaries of this range are $960 on the top side and $885 - $880 on the down side. Official sector price capping has once again appeared, this time at the $960 level, (they can read the price charts as well), while value buying is coming in near the $900 level and on down. I am not sure what it will take to dislodge the bullion banks from the upper level but once again I would emphasize that hedge funds have it in their power to seriously threaten their death grip on the gold market if they will simply stand for delivery and force the issue. Next week begins that delivery process for the April contract so let’s see if any of them wise up between now and then.
The mining shares are weaker today with the paper gold price weakness undercutting efforts of the bulls to push further through the swing highs made back in February of this year.
Bonds have been rocked pretty hard today with traders’ focus back on the big supply coming this week. I should note here that bonds have surrendered half of the gains made following last week’s announcement of the Fed’s intent to purchase up to $300 billion in Treasuries. Given the huge surge in treasury buying on the heels of that news, the low of that day near the 123^23 level, takes on extreme technical significance. If that level is tested and fails to hold, bonds are in danger of facing a rapid collapse, especially if the thinking that the worst of the financial news is now behind us gains additional credibility. A lot of money that sought a safe haven in the bond market will flow out of bonds and into equities if investors become convinced that the stock market has bottomed and the economy is poised for a rebound later this year. Please keep in mind that I am not advocating such a view – I am merely stating what will happen if a sufficient number of investors adopt this view and move their funds accordingly.
Equities are now sneaking back into positive territory as I put the finishing touches on these comments here just before the pit session close in gold. That is pulling the euro off its lows and serving to push the Dollar back off of its session highs. The yen is especially weak today as “risk” is coming back into vogue a bit and this is serving to bring sellers back into the Japanese currency. It is down against not only the US Dollar, but against all the other majors as well. The Euro-yen cross, while it has lost some of its predictive aspect for risk, still remains a decent indicator so we will be monitoring that for possible clues to both the bonds and to gold.
Crude oil is lower today but remains above the $50 level with the quantitative easing play by the Fed proving to have been the catalyst to allow the bulls to shove it out of the range trade and put in a more definitive bottom. The peak gasoline demand season lies just ahead. Even natural gas looks like it too has bottomed out.

MOGAMBO GURU ON ALAN GREENSPAN'S 'GENIUS' 3/23/09
Greenspan Not Reserved About His Innocence
By The Mogambo Guru
Tampa Bay, Florida
Bloomberg.com had Alan Greenspan, disastrous former chairman of the Federal Reserve - who is the one person directly responsible for all of our economic woes with his bizarre monetary insanity Every Freaking Day (EFD) during his demented chairmanship of the Federal Reserve from 1987 to 2006, being indignant that he should be blamed for anything, and insists that nothing is his fault, except for maybe having too much faith and trust in his fellow man, which would explain the complete lack of regulatory scrutiny, or even a minimal due diligence attention, to any of the glaring excesses in the banking system, for which he was responsible.
He is reported to have said, "Given the decoupling of monetary policy from long-term mortgage rates, accelerating the path of monetary tightening that the Fed pursued in 2004-2005 could not have prevented the housing bubble." Hahahaha!
I was at first going to make sport of Mr. Greenspan and cast aspersions on both his intellect and degree of mental illness that would turn a former gold-bug into the monetary inflation monster that he became, but soon I realized the gem of a philosophy that we have here!
Hastily, I scheduled a meeting with my boss, who thinks that my poor job performance, the hostility of customers (morons) and mutiny among my employees (more morons) has something to do with my terrible cost- center numbers that were provided.
To the contrary, I plan to stress that these are mere statistical artifacts by a bunch of hateful accountants (pencil-neck geek morons) who are probably lying just to get me in trouble.
I know that my boss will laugh dismissively at my conspiracy theory, like she always does - but this time I have proof! It was provided by Alan Greenspan himself, lying former chairman of the Federal Reserve - which is itself a Big Fat Lie (BFL) because the Federal Reserve is not a part of government, but is, instead, just a name picked by the true owners of the Fed; shadowy figures creeping around in the shadows, which is why I called them "shadowy" in the first place...
"...Mr. Greenspan has now famously said, that not only is nothing my fault, but that the true culprits may be forces...at work, which are already sinisterly creating excess money and credit 'beyond the control of monetary policy'..."
I am not, as you would expect, going into a loud, Screaming Fit Of Outrage (SFOO) at the sheer, outlandish corruption of the banking system, Congress, government in general and everything it touches, or the unbelievable corruption and stupidity in everything else, both here in America and around the world.
Instead, I have been galvanized to action to, hopefully, to prevent being fired from my stupid job. Now, that task has been made easier after reading that Mr. Greenspan said, "If we are dealing with global forces beyond the control of domestic monetary policy makers, as I strongly suspect is the case, then we are facing a broader issue." Hahahaha! I can't believe my eyes at this unexpected bonanza!
Excitedly, I am planning to say to my boss, like Mr. Greenspan has now famously said, that not only is nothing my fault, but that the true culprits may be forces - perhaps strange, malevolent-yet-evil forces - at work, which are already sinisterly creating excess money and credit "beyond the control of monetary policy"; so it could also be controlling people's thoughts, probably with some kind of secret, super ray-gun, or some new chemicals that they put into the water so that the strange molecules get into our blood streams and go to our brains to make us think, "Don't pay attention to Austrian/classical economics, common sense, the entire history of economics for the last 4,500 years or the Lunatic Mogambo Loudmouth (LML)! And for crying out loud don't buy any gold, silver or oil, which is the only smart thing to do, with special emphasis on 'smart', especially since 'everything else is stupid and you will lose your butt, big time.'"
And speaking of losing one's butt, Agora Financial's 5-Minute Forecast reports, "The seldom-reported net long-term and total Treasury International Capital (TIC) flow came in way worse than expected."
Like most reports, this is complete gibberish to me, and I am soon fascinated with the idea of finding out if I can get a whole burrito in my mouth at one time, and I am halfway out of the office to grab an early lunch to test my new theory when I am stopped by their news that, "in English" for dummies like me, "foreigners - and not just the Chinese - are losing their taste for U.S. debt. Global investors sold $148 billion more U.S. debt than they bought", which I assume was for the year.
In response, I have written a blues song about it, and the four lines of lyrics go:
"Oh, I'm so blue because foreign devils are selling my debt.
"Oh, I don't know what to do.
"This comes at a particularly bad time since the Obama lunatics and the brain-damaged halfwits in Congress are committed to deficit-spending almost $2 trillion this year, a sum so staggering that it is not only eye-popping, head-spinning and/or heart-stopping, it is also more than 14% of GDP, and we desperately need these damned foreign devils to buy that new towering mountain of American Treasury debt to fund that suicidal, low-IQ orgy of deficit-spending, and not for them to sell the Treasury crap they already have.
"Baby, oh baby, I'm so blue, blue, blue."
Okay, I realize this is not my best work and it needs some polishing, so don't bother writing to me about the usual bad reviews ("He is stupid and so is his stupid song!" - Chicago Sun), but the sentiment is perfectly correct: Foreigners refusing to use the dollars they receive, as a result of America's $820 billion per year trade-deficit, to buy more Treasury debt is terrible news to a bunch of socialist/communist dirtbags like Obama and Congress; and the rest of us worthless morons around the world are apparently desperate and willing to sacrifice everything on a long-shot that for once, in all the times it has been tried in all of history, expanding a fiat money supply so that the government can buy its way out of bankruptcy will not, hopefully, end in inflationary tragedy like it always - with stress on the "always" - has before! Hahahaha! We're freaking doomed!
Until next time,
The Mogambo Guru
for The Daily Reckoning
P.S. So, as I explain to the kids, all of this is why I am always buying gold and am always on your nasty little butts to buy gold, too, when a government is acting as insanely as this. Whee! This investing stuff is easy!

Get Set for a 15-Year Depression
By Bill Bonner
London, England
Our old friend Congressman Ron Paul says we're headed into a 15-year depression.
He's probably right. In the old days, "panics" and "depressions" ended fairly quickly...at least unemployment tended to be short-term. There were no elaborate social welfare systems then. No unemployment compensation. No food stamps or "independence" cards. People had to make do.
So, when a depression hit, wages fell quickly and people got back to work. They earned less, but the whole economy would adjust, with lower prices for everything.
There were no bailouts and no stimulus plans, either. Mistakes were corrected relatively quickly. Businesses went broke. Men were "ruined" and had to drink themselves to death.
Now, things are better. If their businesses go broke, they can go on almost as if nothing had happened... as long as they owe money to the right people. Heck, they might even get a bonus.
On Friday, the Dow dropped 122 points. What happened to the rally? Is it over already? We wait to find out.
Oil held steady at the end of the week, having risen over $50 to a high for the year. Oil's rise was entirely explained by the sinking dollar - down to $1.35 per euro on Friday.
"Dollar sell-off gathers momentum," explained one headline. "Gold soars," Bloomberg added.
Gold shot up nearly $70 an ounce on Thursday. It took a rest on Friday...but we don't think it will take a break from its epic run for long. Take advantage of this pause in the gold price and buy some now. You can still purchase the yellow metal for just a penny per ounce. Learn more here.
But back to the story of the 15-year depression...
Goldman says it wouldn't have lost much money if AIG had been allowed to go broke. So, don't think for a minute that it wanted the government to save AIG just so Goldman could get its $20 billion back.
The public and its paid representatives in Washington are up in arms. Reporters have been following the trail of the hundreds of billions of taxpayers' money handed over to Wall Street firms. They discovered that it went into various silk-lined pockets - notably, those of the aforementioned Goldman Sachs, foreign banks and the bankrupt firms' own executives. The politicians were shocked. Shocked! The public was outraged.
Whence cometh this outrage? Not from any matter of principle that we've been able to determine. The taxpayers don't mind robbing Peter. But they don't like it when the ill-gotten gains go into someone else. "Hey, my name is Paul and I've been out of a job for six months," they say. "Where's MY bonus?"
Congress sprang into action last week to set things right. But rather than give every Tom, Dick and Harry a big bonus, the House proposed a 90% tax on the AIG bonuses...and urged the states to take the other 10%.
The whole thing is a dangerous distraction, in our opinion. The bonus amounts are trivial in comparison to the huge amounts of the bailouts. And when the pols start taking money away from people our sympathy is with the takee, not the taker. Besides, it encourages a very bad idea: that politics, rather than a free market, should decide who gets what.
The next thing you know, they're going to be telling us which businesses succeed and which fail. Wait a minute...they're already doing that!
Which is why Ron Paul thinks we're going to have a depression that lasts longer than most marriages. When markets are allowed to work, they often make mistakes - especially when government is fixing interest rates. Periods of growth are punctuated by crises - including sharp breaks in business activity and bouts of 'creative destruction.' Like forest fires, these episodic conflagrations burn off the dead wood, permitting new growth.
But when government allocates capital and resources, it is almost always a soggy disaster from beginning to end. The dead wood never gets cleared away. Instead, it is protected...propped up...leaving the new shoots to struggle in the shade. Not much growth, in other words.
We repeat: there were only two examples of major depressions in the last century. Both came after a huge run-up in debt. And both were met with programs that economists should be ashamed of - bailouts, stimulus, loans, props, safety nets and hooks. In both cases - the '30s in the United States and the '90s in Japan - the depressions continued, on and off, for many years. WWII brought an end to the first one - 12 years after it began. The second one continues - nearly 20 years after the crash of the Tokyo stock market.
And now we have a third one...and this time the feds are determined to beat it. What's their strategy? More firepower! What's their secret weapon? QE, or quantitative easing, which is actual monetary inflation caused by buying debt directly from the government.
Will it work? Will Geithner/Bernanke succeed where others failed? Will economists finally master depressions...and find a way to get "creative" without the destruction?
Ah...we think we know the answer. But in the meantime, we're enjoying the show...

Dear CIGAs,
Here comes the index funds and the hedge funds on the return to the “anti-dollar” move.
You will recall they all began a mass exodus beginning in July of last year that took many months to complete as they had built a massive long position across the entire gamut of commodity markets. Those long positions were as much a play on the weaker dollar as they were on a move to hard assets or tangibles as investors were fearful of the spectre of runaway inflation with the Dollar the probing new life time lows. That all came to a screeching halt as risk aversion and the need for cash to meet both redemption requests and margin calls resulted in a wholesale repatriation of funds from emerging markets abroad and a huge reversal in the Yen carry trade. We all know the results of that by now having watched it unfolding before our eyes – the Dollar embarked on a sharp move higher which sent commodity prices crashing alongside of equities as every single commodity market was crushed with not even gold being spared for a short season before it took on its historic safe haven role.
What we are now seeing continue this morning after beginning yesterday, are these same exact players who bailed out en masse, now returning en masse to the commodity markets as the long term implications of the Fed’s announcement becomes crystallized in the minds of investors world wide. The death knell of the US Dollar was just rung by Bernanke and company – we wonder how many heard it. Their action guarantees that the US will experience at some point in the not-too-distant future soaring inflation with the increasing likelihood of a hyperinflationary event following. Think about what they announced and sweep aside all the high-sounding phrases and flowery rhetoric – they are going to create in excess of US $1 trillion out of thin air and buy US debt . This is the very monetization that we have been predicting they would be forced to resort to but which we were somehow hoping could be avoided for the sake of our nation’s future.
The cards have been dealt and the Fed has shown its hand – with the US embarking on a spending spree that makes the word “orgy” too mild to describe it, they have decided to devalue the currency and debauch our Dollar. They have no other choice now short of defaulting on our debt obligations. I am not sure how this is going to go down with the Chinese who have become our largest holder of US debt but I would strongly suspect that the Chinese will move with even greater speed in their reserve diversification process. I also suspect that the recent chatter coming from several quarters about the need to have a new global reserve currency or some combination thereof is going to garner more earnestness. If the path which the Fed has chosen to follow were being implemented by any other nation on the face of this earth, the currency of that nation would immediately become practically worthless overnight. The only thing that allows the Fed to get away with this con is the fact that the Dollar is the global reserve currency. How do you think this is going to sit with other nations around the world? I am both sickened and angered by what these men, who were given a stewardship of our national currency, have done to us. As I have said many times before, I would much prefer to see a sound US economy, sound monetary policy, a balanced budget and responsible spending and taxing policies. Instead we have the worst of all possible worlds. All we can now do is to attempt to protect our wealth from the ravages that are going to be inflicted upon it. It is coming and nothing can avoid the consequences of this action.
Gold continued its torrid reversal off the lows made early in yesterday’s session. It experienced a bit of selling during the Asian session last evening as shorts were trying to push it back below the technically significant $930 level. They failed. It ran right on into the heavy resistance band on the charts near $960 this morning which is the level that is so critical for the shorts to defend if they are going to prevent an almost immediate return to the $1000 level. A breach of $960 that can hold that level for a couple of hours and many of the shorts will cover. That will also bring in fresh money from the momentum funds which have been sitting on the sidelines who are watching to see if that level will fall before their algorithms kick in. See the chart for the technical levels…
Yesterday’s volume readings in gold were huge with over 269,000 contracts trading hands. I have not yet had time to check it against the data base but it certainly was one of the largest volumes I can recall seeing. Interesting enough open interest increased only a relatively minor amount in that wild session indicating that a whole lot of hurt was administered to both longs and shorts yesterday.
The HUI and the XAU both ran right up their recent swing highs and are attempting to gather enough momentum to break above those levels. For the HUI that means a breach of the 326- 328 level need to occur and hold to set up a solid trending move higher. The XAU looks a bit stronger technically than the HUI as it breached its former swing high near 135 but it needs to push above there a bit further for a bona fide breakout to occur. The move in both indices is occurring with several technical indicators on the daily charts not yet in the overbought zones so they are primed technically for further gains if the bulls can perform and the shorts will blink. Stay tuned on this one. The weekly charts show both indices right on the 50 week moving average so how they can finish out this week will tell us a great deal about what to expect moving forward. If they can best the 50 week average, then the next target is the 100 week moving average.
The Dollar – what can one say about it now except that the charts have turned decidedly ugly. A look at the weekly continuous chart shows what could very well be a long term double top at the 90 level on the USDX. It would take a weekly close below the 79 level to confirm that but all of the technical indicators are showing very strong bearish divergence signals on that same chart. There is support at the 40 week moving average near 81.60 and then again at the 50 week moving average near the 79.90 – 80.00 level. If those were to fail, it would not take a lot of time to see the dollar move back down towards it all time lows. Remember that there is or should I say was, a sizeable speculative long contingent in the Dollar according to the recent COT reports. Those folks rushing into the long side of the dollar for a safe haven play were blindsided by Bernanke and company. Nothing like a long side spec flush as the friends of gold can well attest to after having watched so many of them for the last 8 years.
I have been monitoring the action in the bond market this morning as I was particularly interested in seeing whether we would get much more in the way of upside action after that mind-boggling, stunning move yesterday. The Fed has obviously moved to put at least a short term bottom in the bond market – technically it cannot be argued otherwise, but what I am personally watching is to see just how high bond traders can take this thing especially with outside support that in the past was forthcoming from foreign Central Banks, particularly the Chinese, Japanese and the OPEC block of nations. Keep in mind that with the slowdown in global trade and the drop off in Chinese and Japanese exports, not to mention the big drop off in OPEC oil revenues, there is a lot less in the way of Dollars that need to be recycled into US Treasuries from those sources. That is a very large chunk of buying that has evaporated from the bond markets at the same moment in time that the supply is being ramped up exponentially. That is not going to be lost on traders although many shorts are no doubt a bit hesitant to step back in front of those things after the shellacking they received yesterday. The question traders will be asking is whether the announced Fed buys will be sufficient to offset the drop off in buying from abroad. We will see soon enough.
Equities gave up a good portion of their gains from yesterday (at least they have as I am writing this). Perhaps the euphoria has run smack dab into reality.
I might mention here that the Fed’s quantitative easing looks to have been the spark that took crude oil up and over the $50 level. That is no mean feat especially considering the fact that we were swimming in a sea of the stuff for the immediate term. You might recall that crude oil became a proxy for the ills of the US Dollar back during the commodity boom of recent memory with many investment funds pouring money into the black gold as an inflation hedge. At the time many commercials were bewailing the fact that the specs were driving prices beyond the boundaries of fundamental value but they were powerless to halt the rise. With the global economy as sick as it currently is, the conditions are obviously different than before the bubble burst but the fact remains that many investors have come to view crude oil as a play on inflation. That must be respected. We would all do well to also recall Monty’s recent missive on crude oil and his astute observations on the long term outlook for the gooey stuff (how is that for proper, sophisticated nomenclature?).
Let’s keep watch also on the commodity currencies, the Aussie, Kiwi and Loonie to see how they fare. All are up today against the greenback. If the focus of the markets shifts to inflation fears away from deflation fears, those currencies should benefit. I am wondering what the Swiss monetary authorities must now be thinking after watching every single bit of the fruits of last week’s foray into the Forex markets to knock the props out from under the Swissie go up in smoke. The Swissie not only took back all of its losses; it even added more gains just for spite. I am curious whether they will come back in and try again. I would also venture to say that the Swiss monetary authorities must be FUMING at the US Fed right about now. With the Dems in Congress poking them in the eye over Swiss bank secrecy and picking on UBS, it is not too much of a stretch of the imagination to state that US/Swiss relations are probably at an all time low. The only question I have now is who is going to be next in this game of musical chairs of currency devaluation that is taking place.
One last thing – the collapse in the Dollar with the subsequent strong move higher in the competing major currencies has pushed the gold price down in those terms. We will want
to see how gold responds to this in the days ahead as the ideal environment for the yellow metal is a simultaneous move higher in terms of all major currencies, and not just in US Dollar terms. I would prefer to see Euro-priced gold keep its footing near the €700 level and British Pound priced gold hovering near the 650 level and then moving higher. That would indicate that the ferocious gold buying that had been coming out of Europe and Britain a few weeks ago was not just a flash in pan but can be sustained.

DAN NORCINI COMMENTS ON THE MARKET REACTION TO THE FOMC REPORT
Hourly Action In Gold As Of 3PM CDT From Trader Dan

Dear Friends,
The events that have transpired since the writing of my midday commentary are so stupendous that I felt a few comments were in order.
The news that the Fed would be buying $300 billion of long-dated Treasuries sent the bond market into what can only be called a frenzy. In all the years I have been trading, I have never seen anything quite like it. We are talking about a move that carried from 123^25 to 132^18. The drop in yield was nothing short of breathtaking. The effect on the yield curve was to flatten it considerably. If the idea was to give the banks some ability to borrow short and lend long and profit from the recently steepening curve, that just went up in smoke but apparently the thinking is that the Fed can artificially force down long term interest rates and this will have a beneficial effect on the comatose housing market. Hey you morons – why not just hand out money directly to every taxpaying citizen in the country? After all, you can just print more of it whenever we need it… God help us all…
The effect on both the Dollar and the gold price was instantaneous. The Dollar collapsed as well it should have while gold shot up nearly $60 of its worst levels of the session.
Folks – it is my sincere conviction that this current administration is absolutely CLUELESS in how to solve this problem and are flailing in the wind. They are throwing anything that they can think of at a wall and hoping that something will stick. These theoreticians and academics, none of whom can probably even balance their own damn checkbooks, are now attempting to run the monetary system. In the process they have just destroyed our Dollar and make no mistake about this – they are now monetizing debt – which is another way of saying they are printing money out of thin air. Is it any wonder that the Dollar cratered and gold shot up so sharply?
As a long term friend of gold I am of course pleased to see gold moving higher but as an American citizen who loves this nation, I am both sickened and angered at the amateur hour that has taken over in Washington D.C. While the Fed burns down the Dollar, the same dipsticks who helped create this mess are worried about $165 million in bonuses when they are spending over $3 trillion in debt that my children will be saddled with. And to see the chief ringleaders, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, feigning outrage and attempting to hop on the populist bandwagon to distract attention away from the gargantuan sum of indebtedness that they have just chained to the next generation makes my blood boil.
Wake up America – these damn fools are destroying what is left of our Constitutional republic.
Obviously the technical action in gold completely erases that which transpired before the Fed announcement. Now we have to see if gold can sustain a footing above the $930 level. If it can, and it must if it is going to have a chance at trending higher, then it has a very good shot at $960. That level is what will need to be taken out in order to challenge $1000.
The mining shares as evidenced by the HUI and the XAU both launched technical breakouts smashing above the 40, 50 and 10 day moving averages and taking out horizontal resistance levels in the process. The HUI needs to take out 320-323 to set up a trending move.
OATH KEEPERS PLEDGE...
This is from OldYeller on the MW gold thread today.
Was not aware of this group. Hope they can stick together to outnumber
the many psychos our military and policing agencies have created:
The Seeds Are Planted
The Oath Keepers organization describes itself as a non-partisan group of members of the military as well as peace officers "who will fulfill our oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God."
Among the orders the soldiers are pledging NOT to obey:
1. We will NOT obey any order to disarm the American people. … Any such order today would also be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason. We will not make war on our own people, and we will not commit treason by obeying any such treasonous order.
2. We will NOT obey any order to conduct warrantless searches of the American people, their homes, vehicles, papers, or effects – such as warrantless house-to house searches for weapons or persons. … We expect that warrantless searches of homes and vehicles, under some pretext, will be the means used to attempt to disarm the people.
3. We will NOT obey any order to detain American citizens as "unlawful enemy combatants" or to subject them to trial by military tribunal. … Any attempt to apply the laws of war to American civilians, under any pretext, such as against domestic "militia" groups the government brands "domestic terrorists," is an act of war and an act of treason.
4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a "state of emergency" on a state, or to enter with force into a state, without the express consent and invitation of that state's legislature and governor. … It is the militia of a state and of the several states that the Constitution contemplates being used in any context, during any emergency within a state, not the standing army.
5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty and declares the national government to be in violation of the compact by which that state entered the Union.
6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps. … Such tactics … by the Nazis in the Warsaw Ghetto, and by the Imperial Japanese in Nanking, turn[ed] entire cities into death camps. Any such order to disarm and confine the people of an American city will be an act of war and thus an act of treason.
7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext. … Such a vile order to forcibly intern Americans without charges or trial would be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason, regardless of the pretext used.
8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to "keep the peace" or to "maintain control" during any emergency, or under any other pretext. We will consider such use of foreign troops against our people to be an invasion and an act of war.
9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies, under any emergency pretext whatsoever.
10. We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.
"We will not make war against our own people. We will not commit treason. We will defend the Republic," the organization's website states. "And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually affirm our oath and pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor."

Barack Obama, Meet Team B
By Scott Ritter
March 13, 2009 "Truthdig" -- President Obama received a lesson in international gamesmanship last week, when his secret offer to trade the deployment of a controversial missile defense system in Eastern Europe for Russian assistance in getting Iran to back down from its nuclear program was publicly rebuffed. The lesson? You don’t get something for nothing, especially when the something you’re looking for is, itself, nothing.

SUNDAY MARCH 15, 2009 ACT ON THIS IMMEDIATELY...RIGHT NOW!
GT sez: Read this email I received, then go to: http://www.peaceteam.net:80/action/pnum942.php
AND TAKE ACTION IMMEDIATELY!
There are other issues addressed on the page that comes up, so
DO WHAT YOU FEEL IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO ABOUT IT/THEM.
EMAIL:
Please note: We told you about this issue last week and many of you
responded. But we still need your comments with the USDA by the end
of the day, Monday, March 16, to stop the incredibly destructive
corporate scheme described below. Congress is already trying to stack
the deck so only lobbyists have a meaningful voice in this debate. We
can stop them if you speak out now.
Radio Chip Animal Identification Would Do ALL Harm To Our Real Food
Safety, And No Good
It would be too easy to blame the recent peanut panic on one criminal
corporation owner, who KNOWINGLY shipped Salmonella contaminated
product. But before that it was millions of pounds of ground beef,
and before that tomatoes all over the country, and on and on. And
when you ask where is all this horrible filth coming from, with a
over a million cases of Salmonella in the U.S. alone every year, the
answer is self-evident. It's the huge factory farms that overflow
with seas of untreated animal waste, that then spill into our food
supply, including through our agricultural plant crop fields.
We have a lot of work to do to clean up this giant mess, but the
first thing we have to do is STOP a lunatic boondoggle being pushed
by these same corporate interests, to force radio computer chip
implanting of literally every farm animal in the country, EXCEPT on
their own factory farms. It is absolutely nothing but a further
attempt to drive small family farms out of business, who in fact are
our safest source of reliably clean food now.
The proposed National Animal Identification System (NAIS) would force
even the smallest healthy farms to buy expensive new computer
tracking equipment, and potentially would subject them to
gestapo-like tactics by the USDA if they are in even slight technical
non-compliance. And all this just to fatten the pockets of the RFID
chip manufacturers, and to make it LOOK like something is being done
to make our food safer.
The special one click action page below will send your personal
message to all your members Congress and also directly to the U.S.
Department of Agriculture who is trying to rush this thing through
without adequate scrutiny.
Stop NAIS Action Page: http://www.peaceteam.net/action/pnum942.php
This action is especially urgent because the U.S. House Agriculture
Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy and Poultry is holding a hearing on
NAIS implementation on March 11, and many farm activists fear the
plan is to push it out for a full vote in Congress faster than a
greased pig, before we the people have a meaningful chance to speak
out.
You may not have a House member on that particular subcommittee, but
you can pressure your own House member to tell they colleagues on it
that there is massive constituent pressure against NAIS. For the
especially mobilized on the action page above there is a link to the
phone numbers for those on the subcommittee, because they are in fact
your representative as an American citizen if they sit on it.
Below are some more extensive truth points you can select from in
drafting your comments or on the phone, again linked to from the
action page above.
NAIS was designed by NIAA (the National Institute of Animal
Agriculture), a corporate consortium consisting of Monsanto,
industrial meat producers such as Cargill and Tyson, and surveillance
companies such Viatrace, AgInfoLink, and Digital Angel. The NAIS
scheme fits agribusiness, biotech, and surveillance companies to a T:
1) They are already computerized, and they engineered a corporate
loophole: If an entity owns a vertically integrated, birth-to-death
factory system with thousands of animals (as the Cargills and Tysons
do), it does not have to tag and track each one but instead a herd is
given a single lot number.
2). NAIS will only be burdensome and costly (fees, tags, computer
equipment, time) to small farmers which helps push them out of
business, thus leaving more market to giant agribusiness.
3) Agribusiness wants to reassure export customers that the US meat
industry is finally cleaning up its widespread contamination. NAIS
would give that appearance ... without incurring the cost of a real
cleanup.
4) NAIS will allow total control over the competition: Owners of even
a single chicken would be required to register private information,
the Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates of their 'premise'
and if any animal leaves its 'premise', the owner will be required to
obtain an ID number for it and have the animal microchipped. All
information, including 24 hour GPS surveillance would be fed into a
vast corporate data bank, allowing for ease of false slaughter to
hide true problems or to substitute biotech's genetically engineered
animals.
5) NAIS may allow plundering of farmers through required DNA samples:
DNA samples would be invaluable to Monsanto and biotech corporations
genetically engineering animals. Farmers who raise heritage breeds
would have no say in how their distinct DNA would be used and to the
sole profit of biotech companies.
6) The advantage for the surveillance companies is obvious:
Compulsory tagging of 6 million sheep, 7 million horses, 63 million
hogs, 97 million cows, 260 million turkeys, 300 million laying hens,
9 billion chickens, and untold numbers of bison, alpaca, quail, and
other animals -- and new animals being born, means a massive
self-perpetuating market.
Please take action now to stop this insanity. Our health and our
lives depend on it.
Stop NAIS Action Page: http://www.peaceteam.net/action/pnum942.php
The health claims for NAIS are a sham though fear of disease is used
to advance it. NAIS does not touch the contaminated source of E.coli,
salmonella, listeria, mad cow, and common meat-borne diseases - the
inherently unhealthy practices (mass crowding, growth stimulants,
feeding regimens, rushed assembly lines, poor sanitation, etc.) of
industrial-scale meat operations. Upton Sinclair's "Jungle" all over
again. NAIS will do nothing to stop these practices. Moreover,
tracking ends at the time of slaughter, yet it's from slaughter
onward that most spoilage occurs. But NAIS does not trace any
contamination after slaughter.
The self-serving Agribusiness NAIS plan distracts from their
contaminatory practices, while targeting hundreds of thousands of
small farms, homesteaders, organic producers, hobbyists ... and maybe
even you. NAIS's purpose is to advance corporate monopoly over all
food in the US. And with it, they have laid the ground work.
Kissinger said if you control food, you can control people. This
immense corporate plan to control of our food supply and eliminate
our independent farmers is, at it heart, the most severe threat
possible to our democracy itself.
Please take action NOW, so we can win all victories that are supposed
to be ours, and forward this alert as widely as possible.

FOR CLYMER...THIS IS A STAND PIPE
The water pipe is deep in the ground to prevent freezing
and the lift handle at the top pulls up a shaft that allows
the water to bypass a seal and lets if flow out the spout.
I'll take a better shot of one and post it soon.
This pic is at a bad angle.
The lift handle is nearest you.
The spout is on the far side.
This one is wrapped in foam tubing to inhibit freezing.
It's my neighbor's. He's a trucker. When he's on the road
I use it and other items to show him how high the snow is
piling up so he'll know if he will have to tunnel in to his home when
he returns.
I have photos of this very stand pipe slowly disappearing in our
recent record snows.
5:15AM PDST WED 3/11/09
We just finished a 4 to 5 inch snow storm on Monday.
Now our temps are dropping to below zero this morning.
It's MINUS eleven degrees in Coeur d Alene, ID right now
My pipes are frozen. I have to go outside to get water for
my coffee from the standpipe.

A QUIP FROM CASEY RESEARCH'S DAILY EMAIL, WHICH YOU SHOULD ALL HAVE SUBSCRIBED TO BY NOW
When the great ship Titanic made her maiden voyage across the North Atlantic and its blinded leader struck the iceberg, it would have been absurd to announce: "All hands on deck to man a bucket brigade; this ship is too big to fail!" To require men, women and children to try to bail out the Titanic until its final plunge, while its captain and officers took refuge in the few lifeboats is not unlike what taxpayers are being forced to do in this financial meltdown. Just as then, the correct response would be not "too big to fail," but instead, "Too Big to Bail." - Charles Schisler, Buenos Aires Herald, March 7, 2009

FROM CASEY RESEARCH
Wall Street on the Tundra
Iceland’s de facto bankruptcy—its currency (the krona) is kaput, its debt is 850 percent of G.D.P., its people are hoarding food and cash and blowing up their new Range Rovers for the insurance—resulted from a stunning collective madness. What led a tiny fishing nation, population 300,000, to decide, around 2003, to re-invent itself as a global financial power? In ReykjavÃk, where men are men, and the women seem to have completely given up on them, the author follows the peculiarly Icelandic logic behind the meltdown.

WHY YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GOLD SALES BY CENTRAL BANKS OR THE IMF

Why the IMF and Fort Knox Won’t Put the Hurt on Gold

Is there a Sword of Damocles hanging over gold’s head? Here’s why U.S. and IMF gold holdings aren’t as big a deal as some think...

Be sure to read the comments.
Remember that Sinclair has told us many times that any gold sold by the IMF or any other major institution (if they even have any gold!) would be sucked up immediately by Central Banks and not one ounce of it would ever reach the public markets.

A Condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of 'pricks' and gives you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed. Darn it doesn't get more accurate than that"

CUP AND HANDLE FORMATION IS A VERY POWERFUL PATTERN - BULLISH
CONSOLDATION AT THE HANDLE OF THE CUP
The gold price broke above the 980 resistance level. Doing so technically did not come convincingly though. The U-shaped reversal pattern is clear, nicely rounded, enough to warrant the name 'Cup & Handle' from the charting lexicon. The top of the cup is 980 on the left side and 1000 on the right side. The positive bias is bullish. Notice all moving averages are in bullish mode, having crossed over. The bull run in gold has come from a bottom of roughly 700 up to 1000. The corrections in December and January were not small. Now the February correction might not be small. But they are fit within the bullish scenario. The MACD cyclical still looks healthy and strong. Support in the current pullback and consolidation appears to be in the 900 to 925 ribbon range. THE GOLD CHART IS CARVING OUT THE RIGHT SIDE HANDLE IN THE CUP & HANDLE REVERSAL PATTERN. From there, a breakout comes.

Nothing More Than Inflation, Voodoo Finance And Smoke And Mirrors
The so-called greatest economic boom in history, which supposedly took place in the United States from the end of the early 1980's recession to 2007, was nothing but an exercise in inflation and voodoo finance. It was a smoke and mirrors bull market based on Alice in Wonderland economics. The air is now being let out of the balloon as the man behind the curtain, the Fed Chairmen of that era, mainly ardent Illuminist Paul Volcker, and especially Mr. Bubbles, bonehead Alan Greenspan, are now being revealed to us as the Great Oz, who in the fairytale movie turned out to be a carnival barker and balloon rider from Kansas. How utterly appropriate. So, how low will we now go? Will it be all the way down to the Dow 1,000 of the early 1970's? Will we ride our way down to the Dow 2,000 of the late 1980's? Or will it be down to the Dow 3,000 of the early 1990's? Already, the past 12 years of gains has gone up in smoke, and this is just the beginning.

SORCHA FAAL ARTICLE..JUST READ IT AND DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS
US Orders Project ENDGAME To Begin, 775,000 Americans Targeted For Arrest
By: Sorcha Faal
A stunning Russian Foreign Ministry report is stating today that the President Obama has secretly ordered the ‘immediate’ opening of America’s vast gulag of concentration camps, built since 2001 and estimated able to hold a further 1 million of their citizens, which is aside from the 2.3 million currently imprisoned in what has become the World’s largest Prison Nation in all of history, in what they are calling Project ENDGAME.
These reports say that President Obama’s administration is being driven by the ‘outright fear’ over what they say will be an ‘explosion’ of massive social upheaval this coming summer due to their Nations economic collapse which has nearly totally destroyed their ability to maintain their food stocks as tens of thousands of US farmers have had to resort to the mass slaughter of their bird flocks, swine and cattle herds they are unable to feed due to their not being able to gain access to their much needed Farm Operating Loans they survive on until their crops come in and their flocks and herds are ready for market.
The American farmers being cut off from these operating loans is eerily reminiscent of the 1930’s Great Depression which likewise saw the total collapse of the United States being able to feed itself and which Russian historian Boris Borisov has estimated killed over 10 million Americans.

GT RECEIVED THIS EMAIL FROM HIS ISP TODAY 2/28/09
This might explain some of the trouble I have been having logging on to my order placing platform, while still being able to access the rest of the internet.
From TimeWarner:
During the past week, hackers have launched a series of attacks on Time Warner Cable's servers. Time Warner Cable is working with law enforcement agencies to resolve these crimes.
As a result of these attacks, you may have experienced a temporary "outage" when attempting to surf the Web, including an intermittent "page cannot be displayed" error message. The outages did not result in services being 100% unavailable; and were limited to sporadic timeouts which appeared to be random events. Some users may have experienced a total disconnect, however. These types of attacks are not uncommon, especially for a network as large as ours. We suspect that the attackers are using "zombie computers," or hijacking unsuspecting subscribers' machines to perpetrate the attack without its owner's knowledge.
All of us at TWC take these attacks extremely seriously. As previously mentioned, we are working with the appropriate law enforcement agencies that specialize in investigating these types of crimes. We will pursue prosecution of all perpetrators to the fullest extent of the law. We apologize for the inconvenience that these attacks may have caused and encourage you to report any suspicious activity. Instructions for reporting security abuse are located at http://help.rr.com.
Sincerely,

CLYMER and goldmelter..
Your friends, and the public, need a basic understanding of economics (Austrian Economics only!) to be able to analyse the bullshit being spewed by almost every speaker or writer in public media.
Even many on the internet spew the same crap.
It's just the few we know of and follow who have managed to convey to those who have a working brain what is so.
Hey, when I listen to O'Bomb'a, even I fall into the lure of his silver tongued, pied piper tune. If I didn't know in my heart that he is just saying what every puppet master in history has told his flocks to get them to go back to sleep and not start a revolution, even I might be praising him as our saviour.
I did it with Kennedy. But I was only seventeen then and my baby brain wasn't fully developed by experience, history, and studying the truth.
O'Bomb'a truly is a masterful bullshitter..AND HE KNOWS IT...and has used it to get where he is.
NO ONE rises to that position without the help of the ELITIE POWERS in this world.
HE IS ONE OF THEM.
Being dark skinned, he is being used as a distraction by them to keep us all from the whole point of what's going on.
OUR GUV'MINT IS STEALING US ALL BLIND.
And, they intend to make us all the NEW SERFS in a new age of HAVES and HAVE NOT laborers.
As to the excerpt you posted, and goldmelter's confusion of what he reads...
My basic effort is to 'speak DOGSHIT'.
EVERYONE understands 'DOGSHIT'.
It's the old 'keep it simple' refrain.
That's why I use the metaphor of putting too much water in the Kool-Aid to describe what happens when the money printers increase the paper money supply.
It makes each unit worth less.
And most people understand watered down Kool-Aid.
So when people then use this ever 'worth less,' or 'watered down' paper money in the marketplace to bid for the fixed, or becoming scarcer, amount of goods and services available, they have to 'bid' or offer to pay, more for those goods and services, which raises the prices of them.
That's called PRICE INFLATION, a subset of the REAL INFLATION which is the INCREASE in the money supply.
When it gets moving fast enough, it becomes HYPER...inflation, which no one is quick enough to cope with, if they are paid in paper money (if they are even getting paid at all!)
Those who know gold and silver can't be counterfeited (or created out of thin air like paper money),,having the basic economic understanding to recognize what is about to happen, or is happening, simply convert their paper into PMs and, when necessary, either exchange them for the current paper being accepted, or exchange them directly for what they need to consume.
Most people have some hidden need to appear smarter than those who they are communicating to, and use what they deem to be, the current 'language' used in discussing, in this case, economics.
A term such as 'pricing mechanisms'
is a bullshit term used by academics and Federal Reserve Chairmen to keep your brain in a constant state of interpretation, which will eventually tire you and make you fall asleep, or turn the channel.
It's a tactic, such as "guv'mint speak," they use to keep you a few steps from being able to counter their bullshit.
If you have to interpret what they have said, both to yourself, and then to those you are trying to convince of their bullshit, that takes time and also tires those whom you are attempting to convince of the bullshit.
The guv'mint bullshitters know this.
That's why they spew bullshit jargon.
The public will only revolt when they are hit where it hurts...
in their stomachs and shelter from the elements.
But by the time this happens to enough of them, they will already be penned up in a concentration camp or be mowed down by Xe (formerly Blackwater) killers with automatic weapons and bombs or gas.
Eventually, it all comes down to DOGSHIT! Which EVERYBODY understands when the blood in your body is leaking out of it.

A LIFE LESSON
The madam opened the brothel door in Winnipeg and saw a rather dignified, well-dressed, good-looking man in his late forties or early fifties.
'May I help you sir?' she asked.
'I want to see Valerie,' the man replied.
'Sir, Valerie is one of our most expensive ladies. Perhaps you would prefer someone else', said the madam.
'No, I must see Valerie,' he replied.
Just then, Valerie appeared and announced to the man she charged $5000 a visit. Without hesitation, the man pulled out five thousand dollars and gave it to Valerie, and they went upstairs. After an hour, the man calmly left.
The next night, the man appeared again, once more demanding to see Valerie. Valerie explained that no one had ever come back two nights in a row as she was too expensive. But there were no discounts. The price was still $5000.
Again, the man pulled out the money, gave it to Valerie, and they went upstairs. After an hour, he left.
The following night the man was there yet again. Everyone was astounded that he had come for a third consecutive night, but he paid Valerie and they went upstairs
After their session, Valerie questioned the man,
'No one has ever been with me three nights in a row. Where are you from?' she asked.
The man replied, 'Ontario'.
'Really', she said. 'I have family in Ontario.'
'I know.' the man said.
'Your sister died, and I am her attorney.
She asked me to give you your $15,000 inheritance.'
The moral of the story is that three things in life are certain.
1. Death
2. Taxes
3. Being screwed by a lawyer

BEN FRANKLIN QUOTE
I agree to this Constitution with all its faults, if they are such, because I think a general government necessary for us, and there is no form of government but what may be a blessing to the people if well administered, and believe farther that this is likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in despotism, as other forms have done before it, when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic government, being incapable of any other. - Benjamin Franklin, speaking on the last day of the Constitutional Convention in 1787

World Financial System In A State Of Insolvency
Posted: February 21 2009
Gold now represents a flight to quality, banks being nationalizied, financial system in a tailspin, the depression we are now in is stage 2, inflation is a hidden tax, dollar stability being debauched, China wants out of the dollar, stability of EU at risk, Dow hiding its worst stocks from its index, Housing bubble now burst puts prices back in line with incomes...
INTERESTING EXCERPT FROM THE ARTICLE: "For those of you who missed it the Dow Jones removed all stocks in the industrial average priced under $10.00, effectively eliminating the crippled financial sector. Had they been left in the Dow would be lower and would have broken down below 7286. This is just more flagrant manipulation. Almost every day we see it in a number of markets. This week the Fed and the Treasury tried to push the stock market up and the commodities and gold and silver markets down but to no avail. Downside stock market volume has been some 65% of total volume and there are over 300 new lows almost every day."

To all...
Regarding the Rick Santelli Rant...
His position has much logic...IF...
this country's economic system (and thus, the World's) hadn't become so crippled that a vast MAJORITY of its population weren't now in an imminent position of suffering MASS STARVATION and much violence.
There are times when those members of a society (who still have some assets of such magnitude that allow them to exist in a manner far above mere subsistence) have to SACRIFICE some of their own assets, time and energies to care for those who don't have the ability any longer to cope with a situation of this magnitude. THINK KATRINA!
I AM NOT SPEAKING OF SOCIALISM!
I am talking about TEMPORARY MEANS to cope with the unavoidable consequences of this CRISIS that was CREATED BY OUR VERY GOVERNMENT AND FEDERAL RESERVE POLICIES and Alan Greenspan (with the consent of many other very powerful people) in particular.
If what Mr. Santelli says is the way things SHOULD BE...
that the productive folks should not be required to help out the people who have acquired their homes and other assets by virtue of the FREE MONEY created by Alan Greenspan's fraudulent interest rate policies, the GREED of the lending institutions making LIAR LOANS to people who were both greedy and STUPID to involve themselves in such contractual arrangements, and having the ability to READ A CONTRACT, and therefore having the FACTS of what would certainly happen when these adjustable mortgages finally reset...
would make some sense if the RESULTS created by Mr. Greenspan and the large banks/lenders/government had not become so MONSTROUSLY LARGE that an unworkably LARGE number of the country's population will be thrown into the streets with NO HOPE of finding any type of work or employment that would allow them to survive in any acceptable manner not likened to destitution.
When, not if, that happens, those who still have some type of income or savings that are worth anything, which can still be exchanged for the goods and services they need for their survival, will be more concerned with protecting themselves and their property from the wandering herds of new poor and desperate who will be willing to DO ANYTHING to find sustenance and shelter for themselves and their loved ones.
The Government should, RIGHT NOW, be setting up facilities (NOT concentration camps) that will care for the present homeless of our nation, and those becoming homeless by the minute so that we can realize some type of CIVILIZED transfer of our population from this calamity to what lies on the other side of it without realizing massive casualties in the process.
Just my thinking on what it means to be a TRUE member of a society.

I hate to buy tops, but I've seen gold inch higher so many times when
I didn't buy it, it makes me sick.
Still, I'm standing aside at this level unless I see a spike building.
There was a 300 contract bid at 99760 that just got filled, but
the market didn't explode on it because it was a limit order at a fixed price.
Gold is hugging the highs which are too near $1000 for me to buy,
Bonds are forming a long term HEAD & SHOULDERS pattern, building the right shoulder.
That resolves DOWN. The bond market will eventually collapse driving interest rates SKY HIGH!
