FROM NOW ON FOLKS WHEN YOU POST ON MARKET WATCH

DO NOT REFER TO GOLDTRADER, GT, OR ANYTHING SIMILAR TO IT! JUST REFER TO ME AS "THE FOUNDER" and we'll see just how far MW ADMIN will take it in their "CORPORATE POLICY" WAR with their ARCHNEMESIS! (From Wikipedia: An archnemesis is the principal enemy of a character in a work of fiction, often described as the hero's worst enemy. The reason why the particular villain stands out more than the rest of the protagonist's enemies varies; they may be the hero's strongest enemy, pose the greatest threat or may be the most recurring enemy.

MW ADMINISTRATION AT ITS "FINEST"

GT sez: They didn't delete just the posts... THEY DELETED THE WHOLD DAMN THREAD that geist posted...NOT ME!...geist...! Where in MARKETWATCH GUIDELINES does it say ANOTHER POSTER cannot even reference another poster whom they have "ELIMINATED" from MW cyber space? geist said... All the stuff I posted today on the Goldtrader blog.. gone!!! BUT!!! The same stuff survived on cspans site... Total BS.. Its ok one place but not another.... They are watching the old goldtrader site like a hawk. Or should I say like a natzi war bird... August 2, 2008 7:17 PM GOLDTRADER COMMENTS said... geist... Simply amazing! Give a little power to inferior beings and see what happens. That they would delete MY stuff is understandable, since I told them DIRECTLY to fuck off! But for anyone else's posts to be deleted for just referencing me, (NOT WHAT I SAY, BUT THE ARTICLES I RECOMMENDED FOR YOU), is quite simply WAY OUT OF BOUNDS and not even close to being part of MW POLICY. This just gives you a preview of what is coming when the Guv'mint Information Ministry takes over complete control of the "information tubes"! Like I said, earlier on... Let GT's Group become a skeleton that will represent what we had, and what are the results of MARKETWATCH ADMINISTRATION actions to "fulfill policies"... much like the destroyed buildings in Hiroshima show the results of how America "stopped the violence!" in the war against the Japanese, who apparently did not want to surrender to a "mightier power!) INTERESTING COMMENT BY "mos" ON THE MARKETWATCH PUBLIC GOLD THREAD

"mos On a separate note regarding goldtrader(rrr) and whatever other accounts he made, while I disagree with many of his opinions, inexplicably has his posts continually deleted by marketwatch and is pursued by some users relentlessly. It's not necessary, some people need to calm down and back off. People can post what they want, you can adamantly disagree with it, but tormenting someone is not cool." GT sez: mos sent me a nice email that was lost in the deletions of my accounts by MW. If someone would like to email him to post it or email to someone, I would be glad to post it here. Mos can be a repetitious, and unrelenting poster of "one thought posting", but he has the class to say he appreciated my contributions to the dialogue... A hard fella to enjoy debating with, but still has some redeeming qualities...
He should take a long vacation from posting though...

GT NEEDS YOU TO HELP HIM WITH AN INTERNET THING!

Folks, since last night Aug first '08, I have been trying to log on to Elaine Supkis's website: CULTUREOFLIFE.COM... My Internet Explorer repeatedly flashes a window that says "IE cannot open website"! Please see if you can log onto the website by any means and comment below.. Air Force Officer Dead; Likely a Suicide By Sharon Weinberger July 29, 2008 11:16:25 AMCategories: Planes The Air Force's bad year just got a whole lot worse. A general who spent nearly two years as the executive officer to the recently ousted Air force chief of staff has died in an apparent suicide at his home in Alaska, AP reports:
Brig. Gen. Thomas L. Tinsley suffered a gunshot wound to his chest late Sunday night and was pronounced dead within a half hour, said Col. Richard Walberg, who assumed command at Elmendorf Air Force Base after Tinsley's death.
Tinsley, the commander at Alaska's Elmendorf Air Force Base, previously worked at the Pentagon under General T. Michael "Buzz" Mosely, who along with Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne, was recently forced to resign.
The suicide is a serious blow to the service, which yesterday saw two more resignations of senior Air Force officials.
There was also another suicide last year.
Charles Riechers, a former top Air Force acquisition official, committed suicide last year after a sadly flawed newspaper article asserted that he had been given a "no work contract."
The Air Force's misfortunes actually extend back several years, beginning with initial Air Force tanker lease deal with Boeing. Since that time, a number of scandals ranging from nuclear bungling to acquisition mismanagement (and the occasional hyped non-scandal) have led to the departure of a series of senior service officials.
With a decapitated leadership and a dwindling senior acquisition work force, the Air Force is no doubt in for more tough times.

U.S. fires captain of Japan-bound nuclear warship
Thu Jul 31, 2008 4:31am EDT
TOKYO (Reuters) - The U.S. Navy said it had replaced the captain of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier scheduled for a controversial berth in Japan after blaming him for a fire on board on the warship. The United States has been trying to allay fears over the planned stationing of the George Washington in Japan, the only country to have suffered nuclear attacks. Doubts about the ship's safety were renewed when a fire broke out on board in May, and the plan has sparked two demonstrations in recent weeks. U.S. Naval Air Forces said in a statement it had fired commanding officer David C. Dykhoff and another officer over the incident and installed Captain J.R. Haley as the ship's new commander.

Bush widens spy chief's authority More power is granted over hiring, the CIA
By David Nitkin and Bradley Olson Sun reporters August 1, 2008 1 2 next WASHINGTON - President Bush has broadened the power of the nation's spy chief, the White House announced yesterday, drawing measured praise from intelligence analysts and complaints from members of Congress who said they were not consulted.
In strengthening the role of the director of national intelligence, Bush reduced the authority of the CIA in some areas.
Congress created the intelligence director's job after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, to help coordinate all of the nation's spying operations, but the director's effectiveness has been hampered by interagency power struggles and a lack of control over spending.
Bush has issued a new executive order, made public by the White House, revising rules issued by President Ronald Reagan in 1981 that govern the operation of the federal intelligence apparatus.
The Bush order gives the director explicit authority, according to the White House, to "participate more fully" in the hiring and firing of key intelligence personnel.
Among the most significant challenges for the director has been creating lines of authority among the CIA, the FBI, the Defense Department and more than a dozen other intelligence agencies.

Bush Unveils Spy Guidelines, Angering House Overseers By Joby Warrick Washington Post Staff WriterFriday, August 1, 2008; A09 The Bush administration unveiled new operating guidelines for the nation's intelligence community yesterday in a move that boosted the authority of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) while triggering protests from lawmakers who complained that they weren't properly consulted. The changes affirmed the DNI's role as head of the 16 U.S. spy agencies and expanded its power to set priorities and coordinate the sharing of intelligence. The DNI also was given an expanded role in foreign intelligence collection and in the hiring and firing of senior intelligence officials. The changes were part of a long-awaited overhaul of Executive Order 12333, a Reagan-era document that establishes the powers and responsibilities of U.S. intelligence services. Most of the revisions merely reflect changes already in place since the DNI was established by Congress three years ago, partly as a response to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Although the revamped order had been in the works for a year, its formal unveiling prompted a rare revolt from congressional Republicans, some of whom walked out on Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell during a morning briefing. Rep. Pete Hoekstra (Mich.), ranking Republican on the House intelligence committee, led several GOP colleagues to the exit after complaining that the administration had made the changes secretly without consulting with congressional overseers -- part of a pattern dating to the beginning of the Bush presidency, Hoekstra said. "Given the impact that this order will have on America's intelligence community, and this committee's responsibility to oversee intelligence activities, this cannot be seen as anything other than an attempt to undercut congressional oversight," Hoekstra said in a statement afterward. Rep. Silvestre Reyes (D-Tex.), the committee chairman, raised similar objections. "We were only shown the document after it was complete and on its way to the president for his signature," he said. Administration officials denied that they had deliberately kept Congress in the dark. "We've been in a conversation with Congress and the American people about the structure of the intelligence community since the fall of 2004," a senior administration official told reporters during a background briefing unveiling the changes. The revamped order specifically places the DNI in charge of setting priorities for the 16 spy agencies as well as issuing guidelines on how intelligence is collected, analyzed and shared. It calls on intelligence agencies to use "all reasonable and lawful means" to safeguard U.S. citizens and reaffirms the nation's "long-standing commitment to protecting civil liberties," the administration official said. Left essentially unchanged is the prohibition of assassinating foreign leaders, as well as long-standing restrictions on human experimentation. The document asserts that the intelligence agencies will "maintain or strengthen privacy and civil liberty protections."

** SENATE BILL WOULD BAR SECRET CHANGES TO EXECUTIVE ORDERS
** A NEW EXECUTIVE ORDER ON INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITIES
SENATE BILL WOULD BAR SECRET CHANGES TO EXECUTIVE ORDERS
The President would no longer be able to secretly modify or revoke a published executive order if a new bill introduced in the Senateyesterday becomes law.
The bill, sponsored by Sen. Russ Feingold and Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, responds to a Justice Department Office of Legal Counsel opinion that was revealed last year by Senator Whitehouse on the Senate floor.
According to that unreleased opinion, "There is no constitutional requirement for a President to issue a new Executive order whenever he wishes to depart from the terms of a previous Executive order.
Rather than violate an Executive order, the President has instead modified or waived it."
What this means is that any published executive order may or may notactually be in effect.
It may or may not correspond to the legalframework that governs the executive branch.
The public has no way of knowing.
"No one disputes that a President can withdraw or revise an Executive Order at any time," said Senator Feingold yesterday.
"That is every President's prerogative. But abrogating a published Executive orderwithout any public notice works a secret change in the law."
"Worse," he said, "because the published Order stays on the books, it actively misleads Congress and the public as to what the law is.
"To remedy that problem, the new bill requires notification of any change.
"If the President revokes, modifies, waives, or suspends a published Executive Order or similar directive, notice of this change in the law must be placed in the Federal Register within 30 days.
The notice must specify the Order or the provision that has been affected; whether the change is a revocation, a modification, a waiver, or a suspension; and the nature and circumstances of the change."
"The bill does not require the publication of classified information about intelligence sources and methods or similar information. The basic fact that the published law is no longer in effect, however, cannot be classified," Sen. Feingold said.
"On rare occasions, national security can justify elected officials keeping some information secret," he said, "but it can never justify lying to the American people about what the law is.
Maintaining two different sets of laws, one public and one secret, is just that--deceiving the American people about what law applies to the government's conduct.
"See Sen. Feingold's July 31 introduction of the Executive Order Integrity Act of 2008 (S. 3405) here: http://www.fas.org/sgp/congress/2008/secretlaw.html
At an April 30 hearing of Sen. Feingold Senate Judiciary subcommittee, I testified on the various categories of secret law, including the problem of "reversible executive orders."
A NEW EXECUTIVE ORDER ON INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITIES
Following a lengthy interagency review process, the White House yesterday unveiled its amendments to Executive Order 12333, the foundational document on "United States Intelligence Activities" that was originally issued by President Reagan in 1981. http://www.fas.org/irp/offdocs/eo/eo-13470.htm
The new executive order reflects institutional changes that have occurred in recent years. In particular, it reinforces the authority of the Director of National Intelligence to oversee, coordinate and direct the activities of the sixteen-member intelligence community.
The ACLU found reason to criticize the revised order, which it said weakened protections against domestic spying.
Members of Congress objected because they said they were not adequately consulted.
To me, the changes seemed unexpectedly minor and in some cases positive.
The new executive order affirms, for example, that "The United States Government has a solemn obligation... to protect fully the legal rightsof all United States persons, including freedoms, civil liberties, and privacy rights guaranteed by Federal law."
Such a statement, in a presidential order that is intended to direct a rule-driven bureaucracy, is not nothing.
The old Reagan order did not even mention the words "civil liberties"or "privacy." (Nor did it mention the term "covert action," which the new order uses instead of the old euphemism "special activities.")
To criticize (or praise) the provisions of the new executive order is to presume its status as a controlling document and a definitive source on intelligence policy.
But a more troubling question is how much the order actually matters.
At a White House press briefing yesterday, one unnamed reporter asked: "What do you have to say to folks that say, essentially, it's nice that you have this stuff in the executive order, but it doesn't necessarily mean anything when a President gets it into his mind that he needs or wants to do something that some people would find outside of those bounds?"
A "senior administration official" replied: "I think what we would say to that is that the executive order reaffirms the nation's longstanding commitment to protecting civil liberties.
It maintains all of the protections that are in place to do so.
It requires that all procedures have to be approved by the Attorney General." http://www.fas.org/irp/news/2008/07/eo-briefing.html
But the question seems to be better than the answer, particularly since the Bush Administration's so-called Terrorist Surveillance Program may have violated the terms of this very executive order on intelligence activities.
"The administration's warrantless wiretapping program not only violated the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act; it was inconsistent with several provisions of Executive Order 12333, the longstanding executive order governing electronic surveillance and other intelligence activities," said Sen. Russ Feingold, who was briefed on the program as a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
"Apparently, the administration believed its actions constituted a tacit amendment of that Executive Order. And who knows how many otherExecutive Orders have been secretly revoked or amended by the conduct of this Administration," he said.
The new Feingold/Whitehouse bill described above that prohibits secret modifications or waivers of published executive orders would close this loophole.
In so doing, it would also bolster the integrity and credibility of intelligence directives like Executive Order 12333.

THIS SIMPLY MEANS DICTATORSHIP IS UPON US!

August 1, 2008 Terror In US As Revenge Enacted Over 9/11 Attacks By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers (Traducción al Español abajo) Reports circulating in the Kremlin today are describing what can only be described as wave of terror that is overtaking the United States as its War Leaders have begun enacted revenge over the intelligence network believed to be behind the September 11, 2001 that killed over 3,000. In a swift move that has angered US lawmakers, President Bush this week changed the entire intelligence structure of his Nation with the creation of the greatest spying apparatus in history, and modeled upon those enacted by the German Nazis, and which as many have known, had created the American intelligence organizations after World War II in the first place. The new Executive Order which Bush unveiled puts the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) in control of all 16 US intelligence agencies, sapping power mostly from both the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Pentagon. Upon assuming their new role this week, the DNI has been swift to begin dismantling the internal factions of those US intelligence networks believed to have been the masterminds of the 9/11 terror attacks, to include: Former Top US Air Force Brigadier General Thomas L. Tinsley, who was in the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on September 11, 2001 and failed to alert American Military Forces to the ongoing attacks was found dead with a gunshot to his chest and stated in the US propaganda media to have been a suicide. Top US biodefense researcher Bruce E. Ivins has also been reported to have committed suicide with a massive drug overdose and was said to be behind the 9/11 anthrax attacks that terrorized US media members and lawmakers. US Naval Air Forces are reported by Russian FSB sources to have put under arrest the commander of the US Navy’s nuclear aircraft carrier George Washington, Captain David C. Dykhoff, and who on 9/11 was the commander of the US Naval Air Systems Command Headquarters located at Patuxent River Naval Air Station outside of Washington D.C. and failed to protect the US Capital from being attacked. [Note: US propaganda media sources are not reporting Captain Dykhoff’s arrest and are only stating that he has been ‘fired’.] It should be further noted that these actions are coming at a time that the US Defence Secretary, Robert Gates, has warned his Nation that their wars are going to continue into the future, and as we can read as reported by the Washington Post News Service: "Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates says that even winning the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan will not end the "Long War" against violent extremism and that the fight against al-Qaeda and other terrorists should be the nation's top military priority over coming decades, according to a new National Defense Strategy he approved last month." One would be hard pressed to find any objections in the US propaganda media organs to this ‘Long War’ and its lasting ‘decades’, and which is surprising as the American Nation has, literally, fallen off an economic cliff which is destroying their entire way of life. To the suppositions of Russian Intelligence Analysts towards these events, the most disturbing points towards the complete destruction of all the freedoms of the American people after any new attack upon that Nation, and which many in the World believe is soon to come. Though this is not in our knowing, it is troubling that the American people themselves, and like their German Nazi counterparts from last century, continue to remain ignorant of the powerful forces being unleashed among them, and with that being so fail also to see how Total War is soon to be coming to their very doorsteps. © August 1, 2008 EU and US all rights reserved.

SURVIVAL BOOK TO BUY

URL: http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index713.htm Picking up the Pieces: Practical Guide for Surviving Economic Crashes, Internal Unrest and Military Suppression By: Sorcha Faal (Translated into English Special Offer! $25.95 US) (USE THE URL TO GET THE SPECIAL PRICE ...there is a link) In the span of less than 3 months: Gasoline prices will rise 500%. The prices of both food and shelter rise over 300%. Unemployment levels reach over 30% and are still climbing. The savings of millions evaporate overnight due to currency devaluation and bank failures. Unrest will begin in the larger cities first, then spreading out into the countryside. Strong and repressive laws are newly enacted as Police and Military forces spread throughout the country to counter all signs of growing rebellion. If you are an American reading these words you must understand two things: 1.) This is what is soon to happen to you, and 2.) The description written above applies equally to the United States of 2005, The United States of 1929, The former Soviet Union of 1989, The German Republic of 1924, The Cuba of 1960, Argentina of 1986, Iran of 1979 and the Czarist Russian Empire of 1917, to just name a few. From each of these historical examples further lessons have been learned on how not only to survive, but on how to remain as free as possible and keep your family clothed, housed, fed and alive. While in the midst of these cataclysmic human events is not the best time to learn the lessons provided in this book, but rather beforehand. Your number one resource then will be exactly what it is now, YOUR KNOWLEDGE! Gathered from historical archives, and hundreds of personal accounts, this book will provide you with all of the information you need (and from those who have lived through, and survived these same events) to survive what you are about to face in your lives. It will give you this information, KNOWLEDGE, when you need it most, NOW. This book begins with the most basic rule of survival, LEAVE before it gets worse. Prior knowledge about events soon to occur have saved millions over the past Century allowing them to flee the most dangerous areas ahead of time, and when they still could. What countries are available to Americans now to immigrate to should they choose to flee? What are the ramifications in becoming an International refugee? How can ones property and wealth be converted into allowing them leave their countries of origin? These are important questions, this book provides those answers. Not everyone that can leave will leave; history has taught this lesson well….especially to the almost complete annihilation of all the Jewish peoples in Europe during World War II. To those who are trapped and not able to leave how then can they survive these events? By utilizing the practical knowledge and information passed down to them by those who have gone through these things before. This massive book (over 400 pages) contains perhaps the largest archive of survival information for those facing the imminent dangers of collapsing economies and currencies and the subsequent dictatorial or revolutionary regimes that inevitably follow. How do you function in an underground economy? How do you bribe officials and why do you need to know this? What are the advantages in having multiple sets of identification papers for yourself and your family members BEFORE the onset of events you know are coming? What are the advantages and disadvantages in grouping with other people? What are the ethical, moral and legal implications for protecting those wanted by the State, and if necessary having to kill to protect them, yourself or your children? These are only the beginning of the hardest questions you will ever have to ask of yourself and your family. These are also questions that have already been asked and answered by those who have faced what you are facing now. You have a rare choice before you now: 1.) To acquire this Knowledge now, or 2.) Keep living your lives in denial of the overwhelming evidence staring right at you, and telling you it is almost passed the time you should be prepared. Do not believe foolishly either that your governments will allow much longer this book, or those by other groups seeking to assist Americans, to be available much longer into the future. BETTER BUY THIS ONE FOLKS.... YOU'RE GONNA NEED ALL THE INFO YOU CAN FIND...AND SOON! GT

NEW BLOG CHART POSTED As you can see from the chart just posted, gold only retraced to 91650 on the first pullback, then a little shy of that to 91680 on the last pull back which is a 61.8% retracement of the whole morning's up move from 91030 to 926. Gold has now just broken up and out of the downtrend channel (white lines) and is testing the top line for support. You can see that the up retracement of the move down in the white downtrend channel that gold will retrace back up to 92370 (75%) before once again pulling back, thus creating the see-saw pattern that all commodities make as they trade. What happens for the rest of the afternoon until gold trading ceases at 2:15 PM PDST... is anyone's guess...
I hope it's up....of course! I will be posting more articles over the weekend as I find the time... I'm still behind in my projects that MUST be done before winter hits us again... and that is not far from now up here in North Idaho...
Losing daylight and having cold and rain as fall approaches further curtails my outside work time...
so I have to get moving on my projects and I only have Saturdays to do it and still be able to get a little down time on Sunday before trading starts up again on Sunday afternoon at 3PM PDST. Plus I am ailing from a bad knee that I had replaced a few years ago (both are replaced) and I have metal rods in my back from a hot parachute landing in 1993...
so you can see I am a wreck and not getting any younger or more flexible... All you younger people...I'm warning you... DON'T HURT YOUR BODIES! IT ONLY HURTS MORE AS YOU GET OLDER! And with the cost of medical anything right now...
you don't even want to consider what will be available to you when the economy crashes.... And I almost don't want to think about what is going to happen to all our ELDERLY in this country...
as I have been through the rest home option with my 94 year old great aunt in the 1990s and it cost us almost $4000 PER MONTH for just barely acceptable care in a rest home that didn't stink like piss.
And I'm still not sure they didn't leave her in agony a good deal of the time, because, by law, they were only required to turn her over every TWO HOURS!
How would you like to be all crippled up from a stroke and have to lay in one position for TWO HOURS with a bed sore they didn't tell me about
and for which they were trying to charge us TWO DOLLARS EACH
for a little 4by4 guaze bandage to put over it! Yes folks, if you think you are going to be treated like anything other than garbage from now on, YOU ARE CRAZY! I have been through it all and KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN! NOBODY IS GOING TO DO ANYTHING FOR YOU except
TRY TO GET RID OF YOU! YOU ARE NOW....A PROBLEM TO THIS COUNTRY....AS YOU GET OLDER! Nobody cares what you know... You just eat too much and are hanging around too long! Have a happy weekend!

The new executive order affirms, for example, that "The United States Government has a solemn obligation... to protect fully the legal rights of all United States persons, including freedoms, civil liberties, and privacy rights guaranteed by Federal law."
"The administration's warrantless wiretapping program not only violated the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act; it was inconsistent with several provisions of Executive Order 12333, the longstanding executive order governing electronic surveillance and other intelligenceactivities," said Sen. Russ Feingold, who was briefed on the program asa member of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
"Apparently, the administration believed its actions constituted a tacit amendment of that Executive Order. And who knows how many other Executive Orders have been secretly revoked or amended by the conductof this Administration," he said.
The new Feingold/Whitehouse bill described above that prohibits secret modifications or waivers of published executive orders would close this loophole. In so doing, it would also bolster the integrity and credibility of intelligence directives like Executive Order 12333.

NEW BLOG CHART POSTED As you can see from the new chart just posted gold has formed a down flag (white lines) within a more intermediate UP flag formed at the low of 91030 If the price does NOT fall below the bottom blue line of the UP trend channel where it intersects with the 75% retracement point at 91790, we are in good shape to continue higher Higher level channels (intermediate, MAJOR) supercede lower level channels (short term)... When I post the most recent BIG PICTURE you will see how the various channels work within one another... So when you are looking at the close up action in one day's trading and think gold is going down.... in the larger picture...it may just be doing a NORMAL down move in its very normal see saw pattern which is going UP right now... The big reality is we are in a MAJOR DOWN FLAG from the big high up at the $1048 area (bold RED LINES) seen on the BIG PICTURE CHARTS I post. The day is waning and the weekend is here... So gold could either keep fading, go sideways, or stage a bold run up for the weekend if enough people think disaster may happen... What do I mean "may happen"? I have been very busy helping another member of Goldtrader's Group
set up her own GROUP on MW.
You will see BIG CHANGES coming soon.
The weekend will give me some time to finish the job.
GOLDTRADER'S GROUP should become a GHOST TOWN
when I'm through with it....

Nothing to do right now with gold as all that is taking place is profit taking
and shorts screwing those who bought in at the top of today's runup.
Time is starting to free up now so I will have a little more time to analyse
the other markets to see what has transpired today...
Basically, things went up and down in the short term...
but...GOLD IS ON ITS WAY BACK UP
as you will be able to see when I post the BIG PICTURE CHARTS

NEW BLOG CHART POSTED Gold made a sweet runup even more than 100% of the big hit down. All the other markets are too crazy to even describe. The Dollar got a huge spike up to .7396 and then came way back down to .7352 Dow has sunk to 11316 at present... Oil in the 125s Just too much to do this morning.... I will explain more later when things slow down...

6:40AM PDST

As you can see on the recent chart...gold is almost at the 75% retrace point at 91760 and is climbing fast and has already pulled back once forming a nice uptrend channel which I will put in the next chart for you but you ought to already know where it is and see it as plain as day. After all this commotion this morning, gold could move up to about 920 and the take it all back like it usually does in NY or go sideways and gradually sink through this afternoon... This action is so crazy a stupid that it is only useful to traders like me who go in an out on these swings and also for you CASH GOLD BUYERS who simply buy very quickly when the price crashes as it did this morning... You should have a system set up to be able to contact your gold dealer and lock in a price immediately and then be able to go pay for it and PICK IT UP AND TAKE POSSESSION....! Read Jim Sinclair's posts last night..... NOTHING AND NOBODY IS TO BE TRUSTED WITH YOUR ASSETS....ANYMORE!

H.L. MENCKEN ON GOVERNMENT (THE STATE)

The state — or, to make matters more concrete, the government —
consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me.
They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government;
they have only a talent for getting and holding office.
Their principal device to that end is to search out groups who pant and pine for something they can’t get, and to promise to give it to them.
Nine times out of ten that promise is worth nothing.
The tenth time it is made good by looting ‘A’ to satisfy ‘B’.
In other words, government is a broker in pillage, and every election is a sort of advanced auction on stolen goods.

Posted On: Thursday, July 31, 2008, 10:58:00 PM ESTBack To The Gold Investment Basics Author: Jim Sinclair Dear CIGAs, Here is a proposal:
I am getting emails with files on every bearish gold article from every corner of the cyberspace world. You know that I do not wish to read other’s ideas, bullish or bearish. Answers come to me through silent contemplation of a question, not in the hopeless din of a multitude of so-called gold experts who in reality are unqualified loud dullards. If you insist on sending me every negative posting you can find on the internet you must send me the credentials you have reviewed that qualifies the writer to opine. Assuming the list of credentials is noteworthy; I will review it and comment either here on JSMineset or directly via email. Now that we have that out of the way, let’s get down to the basics: Protection of your hard earned assets is the first and foremost needful exercise. Investment of those assets is the secondary consideration. What good is an investment if it is unprotected from financial agents. Gold must not be approached as a speculative vehicle in which you want to make a killing. If you approach gold in that fashion it will be you who will be killed because of its volatility. Gold is a currency. All the analysis, questions you ask me and handholding I willingly do sit directly on that correct definition. This understanding is the route to answering your entire question and almost every foolish article you inundate me with that fails to see that. To protect your retirement accounts you have two avenues of approach. a. You request direct registration as a book entry at the transfer agent, naming your trust entity and your retirement account name. This creates what equates to a check requiring two signatures and thereby assures a fast settlement and payout by a bankruptcy judge.b. You require your trust agent to assure you that your IRA is held in a true custodial form. That means the assets of the retirement account are segregated to your IRA account name and is not part of the balance sheet of the financial agent. If those assets are in the nominee name of the Trust agent your assets are on their balance sheet. Physical gold is insurance. If some financial agent is holding physical gold for you in any form you have violated the insurance characteristic. What you do not have in your hand or safety deposit box is not insurance. Do not send money to or deal with anyone you cannot find. The scams in gold are prolific and transparent to a professional like me. Any entity that offers to help you violate the law will certainly violate you before you get a chance to break the law. Any entity that, as a main attraction, offers you gold somewhere outside of your domicile that is difficult to see and touch probably has taken your money and you have nothing to worry about. The reason you have nothing to worry about is you have nothing. Share investments in precious metals entities can be protected three ways. The first is to take paper delivery of your shares where available. The second is by you ordering direct registration as a book entry at the transfer agent. Third is that you keep your shares at a financial agent that offers true custodial accounts. **Note - Canadians cannot get direct registration at the transfer agent for Canadian entities. We are working on that. All those holding Swiss, Euro and Cando short-term treasuries in their accounts as true custodial form need to take one more step. That is to firmly ask if the broker holding these assets are certain that the depositories for the broker have provided your broker themselves with true custodial form. This is a systemic problem where we may need to build new forms of protection to rest comfortably. We must be sure that our broker has protected itself (the brokerage house or bank) in order to protect you when offering true custodial accounts. Each link in the chain of ownership must be firmly segregated, not held in nominee form. Settle for nothing less.

Bush Reveals True Reason for War in Push for Iraqi Agreement

URL: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article20380.htm Bush Reveals True Reason for War in Push for Iraqi AgreementBy Bennet Kelley30/07/08 "Huffington Post" --- - For five years the Bush administration has played wack-a-mole with the American people as to why we are in Iraq, with a new justification quickly spawning after the hollow core of the prior position was exposed. WMD's was followed by fighting Al Qaeda and ultimately bringing democracy to the Middle East. Last week the proverbial mole may have met his maker and exposed the true reason over a million Americans have been put in harm's way. In May 2004, President Bush explained that our mission in Iraq was "to see the Iraqi people in charge of Iraq for the first time in generations." A week into his second term, Bush said he would "absolutely" honor any request for withdrawal of U.S. troops by a sovereign Iraqi government, only to then ignore multiple request over the next three years and polls showing near unanimous support among Iraqi's for a timeline for withdrawal. All this was laid bare this month as the Iraqi government went on the offensive in its call for U.S. withdrawal by 2010. Far from embracing the desires of a sovereign Iraq, the White House instead feebly attempted to claim Prime Minister Maliki's statement was mistranslated, while the McCain camp argued that Iraqi's really want the U.S. to stay until 2020. Apparently their view of a "free Iraq" is an Iraq that is free to do what we tell them to do. The Iraqi demand for a deadline for withdrawal of U.S. troops comes in the context of ongoing negotiations with the U.S. over a Status of Forces (SoF) Agreement in which the White House is seeking to define its legacy through (i) an indefinite occupation; (ii) more than 50 permanent bases (including five mega-bases); (iii) the unlimited ability to pursue the "war on terror" in Iraq (including ability to arrest Iraqis without consulting government); (iv) control of Iraqi airspace below 29,000 feet; (v) supervision of Iraq's defense, interior and national security ministries for ten years; and (vi) immunity for U.S. forces and contractors. In addition, the U.S. wants the right to unilaterally determine whether an act by another country (i.e., Iran) constitutes a "threat" to Iraq and respond as it deems fit in order to "protect" Iraq. The Iraqi's have rejected this invitation to be an American colony as "arrogant" and an affront to their sovereignty, but the White House is playing hardball and recently cost the Iraqi's $5 billion by blocking the transfer of certain Iraqi currency reserves out of the declining dollar. From the start of the occupation, the Bush administration has shown little regard for Iraqi sovereignty and international legal prohibitions against making significant changes to the legal and political institutions of an occupied country. Instead, the administration pursued what, former World Bank chief economist Joseph Stiglitz characterized as "an even more radical form of shock therapy than pursued in the former Soviet world," as it completely reshaped Iraq's legal and economic regime to turn it into a Club Med for corporate interests. The shock therapy was administered by Paul Bremer, who headed the Coalition Provisional Authority, through 100 separate Orders which suspended all tariffs and import fees (Order 12); immunized foreign contractors (Order 17); calls for the sale of 200 state owned enterprises through 40-year ownership licenses (Order 39); allowed foreign corporations to fully own Iraqi businesses and remove profits tax free (Order 39); cut corporate income taxes by two-thirds through a 15 percent flat tax (Order 49) and even restricts Iraqi farmers from using certain seeds without paying a license fee to seed suppliers such as Monsanto (Order 81). The Bush administration also has ignored Congressional restrictions on the use of government funds "to exercise United States control over the oil infrastructure or oil resources of Iraq," as the State Department recently assisted the Big 5 oil companies in winning rights to develop some of Iraq's largest oilfields. Soon they will join Halliburton and others who have made billions off the war while protected by our troops. The current spat over the SoF Agreement once again raises the question of why we fought this war to begin with. After five years of war at a cost of approximately $539 billion, 90,000 Iraqi lives, over 35,000 American soldiers wounded or killed, we now know what we suspected all along -- that Operation Iraqi Freedom was never about liberating the people of Iraq but instead about liberating its assets for foreign exploitation. Naomi Klein was right four years ago when she described the Bush mission as "pillaging Iraq in pursuit of a neocon utopia." That is why with or without the SoF Agreement, Bush's legacy is secure. The hollow echo of Operation Iraqi Freedom reminds us that while other presidents may have failed the American people in one way or another, no president has failed, deceived or betrayed the American people like George W. Bush. Copyright © 2008 HuffingtonPost.com, Inc.

SPEAK THE TRUTH ABOUT AFGHANISTAN ERIC MARGOLIS JULY 30, 2008

Let's Speak the Truth About AfghanistanBy Eric Margolis30/07/08 "Huffington Post" -- - NEW YORK -- During his triumphant European tour, Senator Barack Obama again urged NATO's members to send more troops to Afghanistan and called the conflict there, "the central front in the war on terror." Europe's response ranged from polite evasion to downright frosty. It is unfortunate that Obama has adopted President George Bush's misleading terminology, "war on terror," to describe the conflict between the United States and anti-American groups in the Muslim world. Like many Americans, he and his foreign policy advisors are sorely misinformed about the reality of Afghanistan. One understands Obama's need to respond with martial élan to rival John McCain's chest-thumping about "I know how to win wars." Polls put McCain far ahead of Obama when it comes to being a war leader. But Obama's recent proposal to send at least 7,000 more U.S. troops to Afghanistan, and his threats to attack Pakistan's territory, and warnings about Islamabad's nuclear forces, show poor judgment and lack of knowledge. The United States is no longer "fighting terrorism" in Afghanistan, as Bush, Obama and McCain insist. The 2001 U.S. invasion was a legitimate operation against al-Qaeda, a group that properly fit the role of a "terrorist organization." But, contrary to the White House's wildly inflated claims that Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda was a worldwide conspiracy, it never numbered more than 300 hard core members. Bin Laden and his jihadis long ago scattered into all corners of Pakistan and elsewhere. Only a handful remain in Afghanistan.Today, 80,000 U.S. and NATO troops are waging war against the Taliban. Having accompanied the mujahidin fighting the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan during the 1980's, witnessed the birth of Taliban, and penned a book about the Afghan struggle, "War at the Top of the World," I can attest that Taliban is not a terrorist organization as the U.S. and its allies wrongly claim.Taliban was created in the early 1990's during the chaos and civil war that engulfed Afghanistan after the Soviet invaders were driven out. Drawn from Pashtun tribes of southern Afghanistan, who make up half that nation's population, Taliban was a religious movement that took up arms to battle the Afghan Communists, stop the wide-scale rape of Afghan women, and halt banditry and the drug trade. Both Pakistan and the U.S. secretly aided Taliban. The ranks of Taliban were filled with young religious students -- "talibs" -- and veteran mujahidin fighters whom the U.S. had armed and hailed as "freedom fighters." By 1996, Taliban took Kabul, driving out the Northern Alliance, the old rump of the Afghan Communist Party and its Russian-backed Tajik and Uzbek tribal supporters. Taliban, most of whom were mountaineers, imposed a draconian medievalist culture that followed traditional Pashtun tribal customs and Islamic law.The U.S. quietly backed Taliban for possible use in Central Asia, against China in the event of war, and against Iran, a bitter foe of the Sunni Taliban. U.S. energy giants Chevron and Unocal negotiated gas and oil pipeline deals with Taliban. In 2001, Washington gave $40 million in aid to Taliban until four months before 9/11. The U.S. only turned against Taliban when, at Osama bin Laden's advice, it gave a major pipeline deal to an Argentine consortium rather than an American one.Everything that happens in Afghanistan is based on tribal politics. Taliban came from the heart of the Pashtun tribal grouping, the world's largest tribe which also accounts for up to 20% of Pakistan's population. Tribal and clan loyalties trump all political alliances. The Taliban leadership had nothing to do with 9/11, a plot that, according to European prosecutors, was hatched in Germany and Spain, not Afghanistan. Nor did it have anything to do with subsequent attacks ascribed to al-Qaeda. After 9/11, Secretary of State Colin Powell vowed to published a White paper demonstrating Osama bin Laden's culpability in the attacks. Curiously, the promised paper was never issued.Osama bin Laden was a national hero of the anti-Soviet struggle, wounded six times in battle. Taliban's collective leadership, in keeping with the Pashtun code of hospitality and honor, refused U.S. demands to hand over bin Laden until Washington issued a proper extradition request with evidence of bin Laden's guilt and promised him a fair trial. Washington refused to go through legal channels and, instead, invaded Afghanistan.Fast forward to 2008. Today, U.S. and NATO forces are not fighting "terrorists" in Afghanistan but a loose alliance of Pashtun warrior tribes whose resistance to foreign occupation is legendary. They are descendants of the same Pashtun mountain warriors who battled Alexander the Great, the Mongols, the British Empire and the Soviet Union. All these invaders were eventually defeated.Former U.S.-backed mujahidin "freedom-fighters," like the legendary Jallal Haqqani and Gulbadin Hekmatyar, have also joined Taliban in resisting foreign occupation. The war now being waged in Afghanistan by the U.S. and NATO closely resembles 19th century colonial "pacifications" in which a puppet ruler is installed, a native mercenary army ("sepoys") hired to fight, and western troops sent to crush rebellious tribesmen who refuse to follow the diktat of the imperial power.Equally important, the real objective of the ongoing U.S. occupation of Afghanistan became recently evident. The U.S.-installed Karzai regime in Kabul finally singed a long-discussed pipeline deal that will bring energy south from the new gas and oil Klondike of the Caspian Basin through Afghanistan to Pakistan's coast and India. As the perceptive writer Kevin Phillips notes, U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan -- and Iraq -- have become "pipeline protection troops."Barack Obama and John McCain had better look carefully before plunging deeper into the Afghan morass. In Afghanistan, we are not fighting "terrorists" but a medieval tribal people who just want to be left alone. This is an ugly little war about oil and gas, not freedom, democracy, or woman's rights. Every village we bomb, every wedding party our air powers massacres, brings new recruits to Taliban and its allies.Even the secretary general of NATO, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, said last April that there could be no military solution to the war in Afghanistan, only a political one. That means negotiating with Taliban and political inclusion for the Pashtun people. But President Bush and candidates McCain and Obama are not listening.

MIKE WHITNEY ARTICLE #2 FROM JULY 30, 2008

USE THE URL FOR EASIER READING FORMAT URL: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article20384.htm Defeated in Iraq? Look for it at the pawn shops, the homeless shelters, and the growing number of empty sub-divisions By Mike Whitney 30/07/08 "ICH" -- - The United States did not invade Iraq to "stop the violence". That was never the goal. So, it's foolish to say that the surge achieved its objective. It hasn't. Nor has the surge "created the space for a political solution"; another meaningless slogan regurgitated endlessly by the Bush troupe. The political agenda in Iraq has failed utterly. We know that because the Shiite-led government has asked the US to leave "as soon as possible" and for the Bush administration to set a "timetable for withdrawal". Not a "time horizon" as the administration-spinmiesters like to say; a Timetable, which means a fixed time when the United States must leave. So, if the Iraqi government has asked the US to leave; where is the "political solution" the surge was supposed to create? There isn't one. The mission has failed; it's as plain as day. This is not an arguable point. What the surge really proves is that ethnic cleansing works. Baghdad was a city of roughly 65% Sunnis. Now it is nearly 75% Shiites. Most of the million or so Iraqis who have been killed in the conflict, and most of the 4 million who are either internally displaced or have become refugees, are probably Sunnis. This is an important point and one that Americans should understand. The surge was created to disguise what was really taking place on the ground; ethnic cleansing on a massive scale. No one disputes this. The Sunnis have been effectively purged from the capital. That's not a "political solution". It is a war crime.More important, the United States military has helped the Shiites win their war against the Sunnis. The Shiites control Baghdad now; the Sunnis will never get it back. That is why they are moving on to the next phase of their strategy, which is to demand that the foreign troops leave. So, at least in one respect the surge has worked; it has helped the Shiites and their allies in Tehran win the war. Bush has helped to strengthen Ahmadinejad. Was that the objective? The Shiites have no experience running the government. That's always been the Sunnis role dating back hundreds of years. That does not mean they are incapable of leadership, it simply means that the Bush administration decided to break with traditional imperial policy to pursue their colonial ambitions. Normally, imperial powers choose to remove just a few hundred of the top political leaders and leave the existing system in place so the society keeps functioning with as little disruption as possible. Not Bush. Bush chose to raze the country to the ground; rip-apart the social fabric, destroy the critical infrastructure, and spread chaos far and wide. Now, as author Nir Rosen says, "Iraq no longer exists". By conceding control of the government to the Shiites, Bush has not established democracy, but anarchy and sectarian hatred. The idea of creating a "Shiite Crescent" in the Middle East is part of a wacky theory cooked up in a Washington think-tank. Imagine if the Russians invaded the United States and decided that the quickest path to political stability was to wipe out the government, disband the bureaucracy, and appoint inexperienced people from the poorer sections of the inner-cities and barrios to run the country. This is the level of stupidity in the Bush administration. The strategy has cost the lives of over a million Iraqis. That's a high price for stupidity. There was never the slightest chance that the US would succeed in establishing strategic outposts in the heart of the Arab world. It was doomed from the get-go. The Bush administration points to the temporary lull in the violence as a sign of progress, but they are mistaken. They're using the wrong yardstick. The Iraqi resistance has achieved what every guerrilla army hopes to achieve; they have undermined their enemy's ability to wage war. The US is facing growing resistance to its imperial policies around the world, but it can't address those problems because its army is tied down in Iraq. This is quickly becoming one of the main areas of disagreement in the 2008 political campaign. The world is drifting away from the United States and it isn't coming back whether Obama or McCain are elected. The superpower model of global government is on its way out.The real way to measure success or failure in Iraq is to look at the US fiscal budget which has suddenly skyrocketed to nearly $500 billion. This is mainly due to the exorbitant costs of prosecuting an open-ended conflict in the Middle East. The American consumer is not confused by the surge rhetoric; he knows we are losing. He's not blind. He sees evidence of defeat every time he pulls up to a gas-pump. Tell me: Is $4 dollar per gallon gas a sign of victory or defeat? This isn't rocket science. Once again, the individual battles and skirmishes in Iraq are meaningless; what matters is that America's ability to wage war has been greatly undermined. By the end of 2009, the troops will begin to withdraw or they will be left to fight with sling-shots and bows-and-arrows. The housing market is collapsing, the financial system is in meltdown phase, and the country is facing the greatest funding crisis in its 230 year history. Don't look for proof of America's defeat in Iraq. Look for it at home. Look for it at the pawn shops, the homeless shelters, and the growing number of empty sub-divisions which have turned into ghost towns. This is where one can see the true costs of the war; a war that was lost before the first bomb was dropped.

Apocalypse Down-under: Aussie bank's write-offs signal doom for Wall Street By Mike Whitney 30/07/08 "ICH" --- - Monday's trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) was a real humdinger. It started off with the White House announcing that this year's fiscal deficit would soar to a new record of nearly $500 billion. That was followed by news of rising oil prices, weak quarterly earnings and a slowdown in consumer spending. Plunk, plunk, plunk; one domino after another. By mid-morning the markets were in full retreat. That's when investment giant Merrill Lynch announced that it would notch a $4.6 billion second-quarter loss and write-downs of $9.4 billion on collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) and other mortgage-related assets. That's when the dookie really hit the fan. Stocks quickly went verticle and the rout was on. By the closing bell the Dow was down 240 points. Traders staggered from floor of the exchange slumped-over and bedraggled looking like they just got a missive from the draft board. The optimism is being wrung from the markets faster than the credit at an over-levered hedge fund. Every day brings another dismal surprise. And, yet, on Tuesday, the market staged a valiant comeback surging 260 points in a matter of hours. It was enough to give the fund managers a bit of a lift and hope that things are finally turning around. But the market's woes are far from over. They're deeply-rooted and spreading like Kudzu throughout the system. The International Monetary Fund summed it up in warning they issued earlier in the week:"Global financial markets are 'fragile' and indicators of systemic risk remain 'elevated'...Credit quality 'across many loan classes has begun to deteriorate with declining house prices and slowing economic growth.' Bank balance sheets are under 'renewed stress' and the decline in bank share prices has made it more difficult to raise new capital. (There is an) 'increased likelihood of a negative interaction between banking system adjustment and the real economy.' (Financial Times) The IMF also stuck by its earlier prediction that total losses to financial institutions from the credit crisis would reach $1 trillion ($945 billion) a sum that will have devastating consequences for industry, consumers and the global economy. Tuesday's festivities on Wall Street are likely to be short-lived. It's just a one-day lull in the storm. Over at Nouriel Roubini's blog, Dr. Doom made this observation about the Merrill Lynch's troubles: "Merrill Lynch's decision to 'sell' a good chunk of its remaining CDOs at 22 cents to the dollar has been widely praised as the firm finally recognizing the full extent of its losses on these toxic instruments. This batch of $30.6 billion of CDOs was already marked down to $11.1 billion. Now with the 'sale' of it to Lone Star at a price of 6.7 billion Merrill Lynch is taking another $4.4 billion write-down and 'selling' it at 22% of the original face value. But is this a market-based 'sale'? No way, calling this transaction a 'sale' is a joke." (Nouriel Roubini's Global EconoMonitor)This isn't a "sale"; it's more like abandoning a sinking ship. The investment chieftains are getting scorched by their downgraded assets and have started dumping them at any cost. There's no market for mortgage-backed anything now, and there won't be until housing finds a bottom. By time that happens, most of the CEOs and CFOs in the mega-brokerage houses will be squatting on streetcorners on the lower East Side with tin-cup in hand. It's that bad.The Merrill Lynch deal illustrates just how crazy things have gotten. Merrill said it "will provide financing to the purchaser for approximately 75% of the purchase price." Whoa. In other words, the banks are so anxious to off-load their junk-paper, they're almost paying people to take it off their hands. Now that's desperation! No wonder the market is snorkeling its way to the bottom of the fishbowl. The problems haunting the financial markets have cross-pollinated with the real economy and are spreading misery everywhere. Unemployment is rising, growth is slowing, inflation is up, the dollar is down. We've heard it many times before, but it's still jarring to see General Motors stock fall below Bed & Bath, or Starbucks shut down 600 stores, or million dollar McMansions sell for $425,000, or millions of middle-class families join the food stamp rolls. That's tragic no matter how you slice it. Now that the working stiff is maxed out on his mortgage, worried about losing his job, and trying to keep food on the table; the least congress can do is scatter the oil speculators; right?Wrong. On Monday, the Financial Times reported that: "A US Senate proposal designed to curb speculation and increase transparency in the energy markets was blocked by Republican legislators on Friday. The move frustrates Democratic efforts to show the party is taking action on record petrol prices. The Stop Excessive Speculation Act, sponsored by Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader, fell 10 votes short of clearing a procedural hurdle."Unbelievable. $4.00 gasoline and millions of consumers that are flat-broke and congress still refuses lend a hand? What a scrubby band of sandbaggers. The scariest news of the week comes from down-under, where the National Australia Bank (NAB) announced it would "slash a £400m bond sale by two thirds. The retreat comes days after the Melbourne lender shocked the markets by announcing a 90pc write-down on its £550m holdings of US mortgage debt, an admission that it AAA-rated securities are virtually worthless....The decision by National Australia Bank to make drastic provisions on its US mortgage debt could have ramifications in the US itself. It opted for a 100pc write-off on a clutch of "senior strips" of collateralized debt obligations (CDO) worth £450m - even though they were all rated AAA. (Ambrose Evans Pritchard, "Australia faces worse crisis than America", UK Telegraph)This is a huge story with grave implications for America's struggling banking system. No wonder the establishment media is avoiding it like the plague. If AAA rated CDOs are worthless, then some of the biggest financial institutions in the country will be packed off to the boneyard feet-first. The original article appeared in the Business Spectator and was titled "NAB will shock Wall Street", by Robert Gottliebsen. "Shock" is an understatement. This is more like a meat cleaver crashing down on a butcher block. Schwook! This is a must-read for anyone who is following the meltdown in the financial markets. Here is an extended excerpt from Gottliebsen's article:"The National Australia Bank's decision to write off 90 per cent of its US conduit loans will have dramatic repercussions around the world. Wall Street will be deeply shocked when they understand the repercussions of what NAB has done. It is clear global banks have nowhere near provided for their exposures to US housing loans which in the words of John Stewart are experiencing a “meltdown”.We are now way beyond sub-prime. NAB says that it is suffering a 55 per cent loss on American housing loans – an event that has never happened in the history of a developed country in recent memory. This is an unprecedented event and means that the cost of bailing out the US financial system is now far beyond the highest estimates. A US recession is now locked in, but more alarmingly, 55 per cent loan losses point to the possibility of a depression. It means the cost of bailing out housing exposures to the two mortgage insurers will be so great that it will leave no room to bail out anything else and there are several US banks that are now in big trouble. NAB says that the dislocation in the residential market is separate from the corporate market, but the flow on is inevitable." ( The Business Spectator,"NAB will shock Wall Street")The conduits are off-balance sheets operations run by the banks which contain hundreds of billions of dollars of bonds which are now essentially worthless. So far, many of the banks have not accurately reported the losses from these operations hoping that the housing market will stabilize and the value of the bonds will rebound. The action taken by the National Australia Bank is a "game-changer"; it's like the Grim Reaper swooping down on Wall Street and lopping-off the top of every big investment bank in downtown Manhattan. Gottliebsen again: "The global banks have been marking to market the assets they held on their balance sheet, but the vast amounts held in so called 'conduit trust accounts' have not been written down because they were not marketable. NAB wrote them down when they saw the bad mortgages....US banks have written down $450 billion in bad housing loans. The revelation from NAB means that they will now certainly need to take provisions to $1,000 billion. But write-downs of $1,300 billion and perhaps even more are on the cards."(Business Spectator, http://www.businessspectator.com.au/bs.nsf/Article/NAB-will-shock-Wall-Street-GV4M7?OpenDocument&src=sph )Tuesday's "sucker rally" in the stock market was just the convulsive writhing of a dying bull. It won't last. Once the bad news sinks in; investors will pull up stakes, equities will fall, and banks will crumble. The big-hand just inched a little closer to midnight.

7:30 PM PDST EVENING COMMENTS

Well, folks it's been another interesting day. How many of you actually found this Comment Blog site... Just post a quick comment at the bottom of this post so I will know who is reading. Thanks to geist and cspan for posting on Goldtrader's Group. Just keep doing what you've always been doing and the "nasties" will get bored and go away, or start attacking you and show their REAL MOTIVES. NEW BLOG CHART POSTED Gold has been slipping ever since I bought in at 92640
(the green horizontal line is my current position) and that is why it has gone down. No other reasons matter....I did it...I'm magic you know! Really, I have no idea why gold made such a bold move this morning other than all the usual reasons,
which are NEVER the real reason anything happens in the market, and then has slipped away all afternoon and evening... but that is just the pattern of trading that goes on every day... Gold will pick up sometime after midnite pdst and then tomorrow,
given the reports at 5:30am pdst will go crazy again...
and I will make money again. ONLY THE MARKET KNOWS THE REAL REASON IT DOES WHAT IT DOES! AND IT AIN'T TELLING YOU BEFORED HAND! So all you can really do is try to understand what is logical and have some courage and take a chance on buying in with proper money management so you can weather the ups and downs that are so obvious everyday... Don't let the market scare you out of your position, especially CASH POSITIONS! Trading gold from here on out is going to make all previous trading look tame by comparison. Jim Sinclair has told you that and I back him up on that... This is NO TIME to be learning how to trade gold...
unless of course you want to GUARANTEE yourself complete poverty just in time for the coming economic collapse... I have to catch up on my reading now, and will be posting the important articles I find that you MUST READ. I have some from last night that I didn't want to post until we got this Comments Blog up and running properly and had time to notify the others back at the Group about it. Please keep posting our location here at the Goldtrader's Group on MW. You can't possibly do it enough even if several of you repeat one another. It will just show the others who aren't leaders where the leaders are... The followers will never do anything anyway until someone like GWB tells them what they want to hear... and then they will all follow the next "evil doer" over their last cliff like lemmings. Sorry, but that's just truth being stated.... If you can see any other pattern in history, I'd like to know about it... Have a good evening, and don't forget to let me know when you visit the site and when you read the articles... And don't be afraid to ask your usual questions or make comments about anything... If they're really good, I will copy and paste them on the main page with my comments so everyone will see them more easily. Nite...GT

NEW BLOG CHART POSTED Well, I just couldn't wait to trade something and got in early, after I told you all exactly where gold was going... AND IT JUST DID! gold went down to very close to the 75% retrace point at 92080 so far hitting 92150...four ticks above where I had an order placed earlier but was too impatient to wait for it... (see blog chart) Now my contracts are in the hole what I should be making, as gold is now probably going to go up the rest of the afternoon and into the night. Such is the life of a trader.... Not much has changed except Oil has moved back up into the 124s The Dow is headed down now And gold is acting like it wants to move up from here! I HAVE READ ALL YOUR COMMENTS but have been simply swamped by all the things it takes to do this and trade and eat and sleep, etc. I WILL BE POSTING ARTICLES AT NIGHT THAT ARE IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO READ TO KEEP CURRENT. I will post answers to your comments as appropriate and/or necessary AT NIGHT...when things slow down for me and I have had a recharge nap. You see my pattern of posting CHARTS into the night, which will continue... THANKS to all of you who have come here with me and to all those who have helped in the transition (shortsweetsimple, cspanjunkie, geist, goldmelter) I don't miss much of anything... so don't think that because your name isn't mentioned you are not thanked, and your loyalty isn't appreciated... IT IS! I especially thank geist for posting my Comments Thread today... "just to keep the torch lit" I hope you'll do it every morning, like raising the flag, just to let them know who created the group, even though you folks are the one's who really created The Group yourselves just by showing up ,to the place I built, and seeing that you aren't alone in your thoughts and beliefs... THEIR ARE MANY OF US who just haven't found a way to organize! This isn't any tribute to me, because as you all know by now, I'm just a grumpy old fart who is tired of the BULLSHIT we have to endure 24 hours a day in this society as our Guv'mint bleeds us all to death while it plunders the Country for every last penny and resource. AND WOULDN'T YOU JUST KNOW IT.... GOLD JUST HIT 92080 ON THE BUTTON! SHEESH! Nap time now...
